Saw on Fleabay a 91 with 31K miles sold for $11,300 but was in Hawaii and would cost about $3,500 to ship back to the states (talk about seeing sight unseen other than pics).
I thought I bought my 91 on sale last year at $17K from another ZR1 Registry owner, but I guess not. Interesting to see all the ZR1's for sale on the Registry asking more and better top $'s.
Maybe with the new LT5 mid engine coming out soon that will spirit more talk of the C4 ZR1 and higher appreciation values!

The car in Hawaii did not sell (even though the site says it did; cancelled by owner)... the owner just decided to keep it, which I think is a great decision on his part. That car is worth more than the auction indicated. I was seriously considering buying that car but like you pointed out, the shipping costs were just too high.

Some people need the money and will just unload a car regardless of what it is depending on there circumstances I'm guessing....

Since the ZR-1 was priced at 60K to roughly 73K at the end of there run, what were there prices used from let's say 2000-2005 a decade later? 30-35K maybe for a fine example?

Take the Z06 C6......73K-81K roughly for them new from 06-12 maybe....Now you can get a nice example from 33K-42K a decade later for a good used one..

What I'm trying to get at is even though they are Corvettes some just seem to lose value, or don't hold the value you think they should...

The thing is that the fundamentals for the ZR1 being highly collectible are all there. It is a bit odd that they have apparently fallen in value so much. My 1990 M3 went from about $22,000 in 2006 to about $150,000 or more today. My Rx7 has gone up in value over the same period. So, I'm scratching my head a bit.

As I've said before it is way to early for these cars. Early C3's are just starting to get hot and those are 45 years old. My Z just turned 24. Be patient and enjoy the drive...

Ah. You may be asking a serious question. That car has 296,000 miles on it! Non-stock wheels. Engine compartment suggests motor may run. May not. Interior shot. Says he has new seats to replace the torn up ones in the pictures. This one belongs in a junk yard, but he can get $45,000 for it. Here are some links to the nicer M3's like mine.
