Default LT5 Service in So. Cal

Hi Zroners-

As I've been a non-owner long enough and I've moved out of the L.A. area, I am unaware of anyone in Southern California who can do LT5 heavy engine work.

I have a pal here in the Santa Barbara area with a '90 and it has head gasket problems and may have other engine issues.

Anyone know of a service facility on So. Cal which does LT5 work?

Try this shop. I run into quite a few shops & after awhile I could tell the good ones from the conversations had while ordering parts. This shop did a full overhaul & was good to work with.

It amazes me that in a place like LA. There isn’t at least one competent LT5/ZR-1 Shop. I’m aware of Pfaff and I know they do excellent heavy engine work including the LT5. A friend had his 415 done there. I’m not sure how much they do beyond heavy engine, such as diagnostics, maintenance, fuel injection and so forth. It would be good to know. Corvette Mikes in Anaheim will work on them too and has a decent reputation. However, so far no members have stepped forward and endorsed either shop to any degree. There used to be Guldstrands Motorsport in Burbank but I don’t think they do much LT5 work anymore.
Let us know what you find. Hib, couldn’t you just do it yourself?
