Default Secondary Port Function

Have a 95 ZR-1. Am trying to understand if Secondary system is working correctly. I assume the valet key must be "on". Is there a way to tell the ports are actually working? Kick in the pants going thru 3K RPM? Or?

I would suggest a look at Marc Haibeck's website at ZR1specialist.com. Here is an article directly addressing your issue; there may be more. Good luck. --Bob

Haibeck sells a PLENUM PULL DVD that will show you how to actuate the secondary system while you look for any issues. It's best to have this DVD handy when doing a plenum pull, before the plenum goes back on it's possible to activate the system and watch all of the components working. The electric vacuum pump makes this possible.

Hi @preshenne... I have watched the video of your car from BaT many many times, and it sure sounds to me like the secondaries were very functional at the time that video was taken for the auction. Does it feel sluggish above 3k RPM? Mine comes alive between 3-4k RPM, and I've learned to hold on! Couple times I have forgotten to turn my key on, and the difference is pretty obvious... it falls on its face at 4k RPM if the key is not on.

Thanks for the video reminder. And it still sounds like that. Not sluggish as far as I can tell.

If it hits 6,500 plus rpm in first and second gears they are working.
