Default Intermitent SES light and rough idle...

I'm thinking either vacuum leak, which i doubt because the car still pulls well, or injectors going bad. But would an injector cause an ses light?

I only get the ses light on the highway and then not all the time. I drove down to cars and coffee today with is highway nearly all the way and the car was running fine till i happened to glance at the DIC and I had a "service engine soon" light that stayed on till I got back onto surface streets. I don't know when it came on but it was on the highway. The last time I had a ses light on the highway I blew the map sensor hose off but I know that isn't the issue now because it'll break the tires loose in second. So I sit, scratching my head and wondering what say you, the experts....because I'm at a loss.

Because they are 21 yrs old......Kevin, on the P/Side O2 you will have to take the brace under the motor mount off so you can have room to work. Just figured I should remind you as the thread on this was ages ago.

Well, were I to buy another 90, I would R&R under the plenum by-
-eliminating the secondaries,
-replace the OEM injectors
-R&R the starter solenoid contacts and ring (at least)
-replace the coils and wires and plugs (inspect the plugs for other "issues")
tie-wrap the rubber hoses to the plenum nipples (deterrent to latent back fire issues)
-R&R HVAC circuit
-plug off the TB coolant flow
-insert wire hoops, or better yet insert a smooth aluminum sleeve into the snorkel (to prevent it from collapsing),
-consider an oil catch can mod (I'm doing that now)
-scan it to see if there are legacy issues, and data log it to see if there are issues that are coming up (like O2 sensors, for one).

Another thing to consider is bypassing the clutch interlock switch, or installing a starter relay.

That should take care of the majority of the problems you will run into. But, hey! Even NEW cars can be a PIA. So, once you get past the R&R listed, you will have bought a new lease on life, prolly. Spend a Saturday afternoon and you can get that done at once, or let it "nickle-dime" ya ta death!
