It is Joe's old car recreated by Gene Tucker in 1996. s/n 14. The car is currently owned by someone in In or Ill. He is aware of the correct motor at SCG but is not interested.

All 89 motors were Phase 3. The Phase 2 motors were used only in the 88s. Phase 1s were used in the 86 mules. What the heck you got the 'book'.

Anything after that date was built at MM in a production environment. The information in that document was used to decide wether or not to continue the LT-5 into production. It does not get any better in the documentation of the prototype phase of the ZR-1 project.

That's why I was so excited that Geoff gave me the book. I figured if I was going to buy the 88, and it wasn't cheap by any stretch of the imagination, I wanted as much documentation as I could get. And I got a heap of it!

Having one of only two atcual true prototype ZR1's means alot to me. And to bring it back from the dead is the whole adventure of it all.

The "book" was just icing on the cake.

Tyler Tyler Tyler, I thought I did a better job training you on these "new ones" but there were both Phase III and Phase IV LT-5s in 1989. This one I suspect (if #014) is a Phase III, starting with #40 they were putting Phase IVs in the 1989s In fact from #55 on they were almost identical internally to the production 90s (with some exceptions) #004 has a Phase III with the machined PCV stuff and #058 and #074 have Phase IV "rubber boot" PCV setup LT5s.

#014 would have been produced in 03/1988.

In the theology of the Catholic Church, Limbo (Latin limbus, edge or boundary, referring to the "edge" of Hell) is a speculative idea about the afterlife condition of those who die in original sin without being assigned to the Hell of the damned. Limbo is not an official doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church or any other. Medieval theologians described the underworld ("hell", "hades", "infernum") as divided into four distinct parts: hell of the damned (which some call Gehenna), Purgatory, limbo of the fathers, and limbo of infants.

Thats more than I wanted to know.
Since I used the term first I guess I might explain. The car is for sale and the owner did not want its location and info 'out there'. I wanted to note that it was known to still exist but it was up to the owner to post pictues and the story of the car. Car is still for sale but the price tag is quite high for it and the sale fell through so its fate remains confidential, ie in limbo.

If the owner of the ZR-1 is not interested is the LT5 for sale? It might be nice to have some spare parts for the Phase III in #004.
