Default Fuel Sending Unit

Does anyone have an extra fuel sending unit they are willing to sell? Please contact me at William_barrett@oxy.com if you do. Mine is rusted and fell apart....forgot to put in fuel stabilizer a few years ago. I always learn my lessons the hard way :-)

This may very well be our next critical shortage part. While fuel pumps are in good supply due to their use in other applications, the sending unit as a whole AC/Delco #FLS1102 GM#25028725 has been getting scarce recently. As with Will, the units are prone to rusting out even under the best of circumstances. A quick internet search turns up only one supplier with stock (at least according to the website, and I’m not counting White Racing due to their recent issues and tendency to price gouge, he’s asking $961 for his) Surprisingly that’s Autozone. I guess the only way to know if they really have one is to order it.

I tried Auto Zone yesterday, and even though the fuel sending unit is listed on their website, it is unavailable...

Don't know why, but Rock Auto shows it to be in stock until you check out, then it takes it out of the basket and says the part is not available.

I just went through this recently and had the same luck. Decided to order the Stewart Warner Universal unit 439363-D as recommended by other forum members. Have not installed it yet but it is a quality piece. Will require some modifications but after looking at using the standard C4 unit and modifying it vs modifying the stock ZR1 with a better sending unit was a simple decision for me.

So your adding the SW unit as a sending only and leaving the pumps on the the original frame?
