My vote was for Marino. I think that he was able to do more with what he had around him. Young, still an absolute great QB, had more talented players around him while he was in SF. I'd take both any day of the week though.
Except for in the Superbowl. I'll take Terry Bradshaw with JoeMontana a close second (Probably because I've been a Steelers fan all my life!)

Quite frankly I think many of today's quarterbacks would flop if they were required to call their own plays like the quarterbacks of yesterday. Some of the great quarterbacks from Bradshaw's era like Stabler, Griese, Staubach, etc. were so much more than just good athletes. They had a special feel for the game and could make game winning drives and plays based on their brains, not just their arms. |
