Cool What looks like water stains question.

My red 1990 Z has what looks like water spots on the hood and roof. Have compounded and waxed multiple times. Won't come out. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

distilled vinegar and water 50/50 I think. lemme check

found it:

2. Try to dissolve the alkaline-based, surface/etched mineral water deposits try one or more of the following;
a) Use a 2:1 or stronger solution of distilled water/distilled white vinegar (Acetic acid)
b) Try a 2:1 solution of distilled water/Isopropyl Alcohol (adjust ratio as required)
c) Or equal parts distilled water/distilled white vinegar/Isopropyl alcohol.

Might have to color sand and buff out.

Start with the basics... clay.

If that doesn't work give Kevins vinegar mix a shot.

If after those 2 you're still left with spots then you may have etching, which if severe enough may require a light sanding to correct, or at the very least some aggressive compounding.
