Default ’89 ZR-1 Prototype Photos.

I visited Nelson Automotive in Marysville, OH today to look to look at some of the ZR-1’s they have for sale.

While there I noticed a wide-body C4 with ’89 wheels, got a little closer to see that it had the digital dash. It is one of “4 or 5 unmolested” ’89 prototypes to be in existence.

The gentlemen I was talking to is friends with a Mr. Ungurean who has about 50 Corvette’s in his collection. I think this is one he was buying (not 100% sure on that). He told me that the going price for this car is in the $200,000 to $250,000 range. They have a few other ’Zs with double digit miles on them, they are literally time capsules and are flawless. One cool thing I noticed on one of the ’90 Z’s was the windshield cutout for the radar detector/garage door opener is larger than the later models. There was a ’94 Z beside it for comparison.

Link to a few of the Z’s at the dealer I was able to view.

Wish there was more light coming in the showroom to showoff the color, it is cool.

I plan to pick up Queenie April 10 and will be in Detroit/Indianapolis area around same time. Would like to get a couple more shots of EX5014 and Ex5023 together, if you are in the area let me know and I will give you a better timetable.

Tyler,

You are more than welcome to use whatever images you wish. It was a happy accident coming across this ’89 today.

Here are a few more pictures that I took of the Z today. I can only post 5 images per post.

Few more shots:

Thank you for the heads up on the Detroit/Indianapolis event. I unfortunately won’t be in those areas around that time, but it’s nice to see these landmark Corvettes being preserved and displayed.
