Make sure you have a block of wood handy during the process. That's glass is pretty darn heavy

Are you talking the prop rod or pressurized hood lift support?

Do the two little ones on the hood while you're at it.
Makes the hood easier to open and they're inexpen$ive too.
<88 C4s had them. The mounting studs should still be there.

Mid America. Ami looked it up in their catalog, because their web page SUCKS so bad (doesn't cross-reference worth a damn) that even the rep on the phone couldn't find it.

Anyway...

Ask for part # 609-623 "Telescoping hood support strut"

Lists for $59.99, but shipped it runs $80.xx from Effingham.

Ecklers C4 Corvette Hood Support

With New Hood Support the hood can easily be lifted and will stay lifted without locking the support (all ZR-1 hood supports loose lift after a few years and should be replaced).

If the old Hood Support is not making the Hood lift easy with the fingers and if that support does not easily hold the Hood Open (within the last foot of hood movement) then you need a New Hood Support.
