Love the Rev match. My Youngest son has that in his FRS with the paddle shifters.

I haven't looked at the specs, but it sure sounds like the 7 spd manual has tighter (closer) ratios than even the z51 c6 gearbox. Even if you do get caught at 3k rpm, the variable cam timing will phase in some low end like crazy.

Yeah, I'm liking it lots too. Putting down some impressive 1/4mile times even stock. I'm wondering if we'll be seeing a couple of these at the next
Corvette Challenge. They may be tough to beat in bracket racing w rev matching and launch control.

The 7 speed manual has 2 flavours, not much difference from the T6060 6 speeds except that it has a deep cruise only 7th gear for 7 Overdrive gears total. Those high 7th gears require light throttle torque torque which the AFM and VVT and Direct injection supply, even when operating with only 3.1 liters on displacement when in 4 cylinder mode.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Tremec T6070
1st 2.66
2ng 1.78
3rd 1.30
4th 1.00
5th 0.74
6th 0.50
5th 7th 0:42
R 2.90

2014 Chevrolet Corvette T6070 With Z51 Performance Package
1st 2.97
2nd 2.07
3rd 1.43
4th 1.00
5th 0.71
6th 0.57
7th 0:48
R 2.90

If you get caughtin a situation like being in the wrong gear for a roll race, the VVT will not dial in more torque as you only get more torque at light throttle. See that you would be at WOT, the cam phasers would be in full power mode with full cam advance.

The whole point of Variable Valve Timing is to run a cam to meet you power goals at WOT, while at the same time, providing decent low rpm torque for daily driving.

The LL8 4.2 I-6 in the GMT360 Trailblazer has been using VVT on the exhaust camshaft only since MY2001.
The GEN 5 LT1 is the 1st GM V8 engine to run CVVT (continuous variable valve timing) and AFM(Active Fuel Management) with a manual transmission. Up to 68° of cam phasing is available.

The previous engine to use VVT and AFM was the L99 in Camaro, but that was only with an automatic trans. The manual trans Camaro got the LS3 with its higher than L99 rev limits.

Camshaft:

The Gen 5 LT1 camshaft features 200/207 degrees of duration at .050-inches, .551/.524-inches of lift, and a 116.5-degree lobe separation angle. These specs are quite similar to those found on the LS3 (204/211-degrees of duration, .551/.522-inch lift, 117 LSA) although the design has been optimized for the splayed valves, 1.8-ratio rockers, and the AFM system, and reversed for the new intake and exhaust valve locations.

It's just really too bad you have to walk up and look at it before you can get in and drive it fast.......

I know a lot of guys like the way it looks, but it's not my thing. They'll be good bargains in a few years as they filter into the used car markets. I'll be curious what the higher HP option ones do as they come out.
