Re: Which Performance Chip do you have?
Bob,
A "true custom chip" involves tuning for overall driveability with real road conditions and not just WOT. In fact to properly tune WOT, you need to have the part throttle and driveability tune done correctly first. |

Re: Which Performance Chip do you have?
I got Marc's chip for '90 TSB high idle coast down, and hard hot re-start.
Anyone know how it fixes the hard hot re-start, and not immediate cold start? (mine HAS started immediately COLD, just a couple times, since the 'Top End Resto' is done here...) |
Re: Which Performance Chip do you have?
I guess I have a "true custom chip" from Marc then. He is definitly the man when it comes to the ZR-1. He sure went above and beyond on my car.

Re: Which Performance Chip do you have?
As I was told when I bought my car in 2003 it was equipped with a chip programmed by Chip Reese.
Has anybody heard of Chip Reese? I also have a stock chip and the drivability and power are down as compared to the Reese chip. |
Re: Which Performance Chip do you have?
I have a Doug Rippie chip that a friend gave me, anybody know what to expect with this chip?

Re: Which Performance Chip do you have?
My 1990 RED / Black # 365 had the Zimmerman chip in it when I purchased it just after Christmas. It had been in the car since 1992. After extensive research I sent my cars chip to Marc Haibeck for his upgrade on Tuesday and just got off the phone with Marc at 3:30 pm today, Saturday. This upgrade is regarded as the best on the market for a generic tune for all ZR1's. Marc read the Z chip and gave me all details and parameters on it and explained everything to me in terms I could understand. Programming is complete and will be returned by the middle of next week. Thanks for all of your help Marc, I'll talk to you soon/ Pat

Re: Which Performance Chip do you have?
A few years ago when I had the SGC 475 package done on mine it was dyno tuned and e-prom reprogrammed. What I didn't like about the tune was when you let off the gas completely you get a backfire. I had an extra e-prom I sent to Marc with all the mods on the car and asked him to program it. I have run both e-proms and as far as power goes it feels about the same. Unfortunately I live in an area that is not dyno heaven so I can't find out what my rwhp is on Marc's chip. Any thoughts?
