However, the normal turn around time is typically 2 weeks according to the gentleman I spoke with. They also can sell you remanufactured calipers that they can get for approximately $150.00, plus the $250.00 power-coating for $400.00
He said there is a one year warranty on the finish, but that it will last a very long time provided they are not abused or overheated to 450 degrees.

I think Jeff powder-coats brakes calipers as well, so he might chime in with his thoughts.

Thanks for the link Bryan.

That pricing seems out of line with their website. They advertise two NEW calipers PC'd with the logo, and with rotors tossed in for $449. They advertise the PC'ing being under $100 on that main page for almost all combos.

Per my conversations and emails with Jeff @ Discbrakesrus, these are new GS calipers without the "Corvette" from PBR and they mill the face to all ZR-1 to fit on flat surface. I'm considering a set myself, still researching other options. They will do any variety of colors for ZR-1 letters the calipers but I'm leaning towards the red with white letters as shown.

I did not see you reply to my post until now. While I could have received incorrect information, or just copied it down wrong, I'd be pleasantly surprised that they would sell you two new calipers already PC'd and two rotors to boot for $449.00. I guess we will have to look further into this because the ones in the picture do look very

Z Factor,

I was not trying to counter your information and they probably meant rebuilt but stated new. I thought it was too cheap to be new and wondered myself. There is a site that sell them new (pair) for $269 but I'm not sure if they get a special buy or that when they say new, they mean rebuilt. Here is a copy of the email:

Okay, thanks. The application appears to be for the 1996 Corvette GS brakes?

I just wanted to ensure for the price being charged that it was a slight upgrade to my ZR-1, J55 Heavy Duty brakes and that these are not rebuilt units.

Thanks again,

Craig

Hi Craig
We buy the calipers from the OEM manufacture PBR witch makes them for GM so we do not know the GM part number thanks discbrakesrus

I forgot to mention that there are no rotors for the $449 price, just two calipers powder coated according to when I spoke with them. I will be ordering a set myself and will take pics and let all know what I think when I get them in my hands.

Well everyone has their own taste, but they look good to me and will hopefully be of high quality. Let us see the pictures when you get them and let us know what you think.

Z Factor,

Will do. From the performance standpoint there were many better choices for the $ I guess. Foolish me just had to have the "ZR-1" bling on the calipers. At least I will be able to tell folks what the real deal is first hand.

Craig
