Re: ISO Tech1 adapter 3000053 (16 - 12 ALDL)
The 1994 and 1995 C-body cars were part of GM's early roll-out of OBD2 as were the Corvettes with LT1s.
The ECM in that car has partial OBD2 capability. If your T2 has software supporting MY95, then you should be able to look at whatever OBD2 content is coming over the DLC, but you are correct in that you will NOT be able to view OBD content with a T2 unless it supports it with the right software. If you T2 does support MY95, then I'd try to connect. If it does not and you have access to a T1, T1A or a MasterTech along with a software cartridge which supports 95 OBD, then, yes, you need that adapter. I have that adapter, but it's Vetronix PN 02001575. It is unknonwn to me if PN 3000053 and 02001575 are the same part or two different parts. It's not for sale but might be available for loan if what you've already obtained doesn't work. |

My Tech2 is lent to a friend now and isn't an easy retrieval. I last updated the 32M card in '12 - I didn't want to go through the retrieval aggravation if it wouldn't. I don't see any indisputable way to confirm without having the Tech2 in hand, connecting it and see if it will sort through the MENU to '95 and then the K (3800) and lastly give me the option to choose H/C in the model ID. Daryll's sending the 0053 and with my mass-storage I'll see how much of the information is available. I believe I should maybe be able to get into the BCM also with the 0053. On the side of the 0053 I believe there's a TOGGLE for ECM/PCM and E & C or at least that's the way I've seen it in images but no one has mentioned what the TOGGLE is for. Some just say NO IDEA. I've always thought E & C was Entertainment and Control generally reserved for RPO option content. I'll post back and if I'm able to put a "hands on" to my Tech2 I'll compare both. Thanks for the offer of a loan - I thought the Vetronix PN 02001575 was for use on maybe a true OBD2 car for only PCM/ECM content and DTC. I'll post back. **** Even in the Tech1 MENU I had to first specify that it wasn't an F-body |

I get CODE READER - ERASER but that's NOT where I'm attempting to go. In this CF thread I'm guessing/thinking the "toggle" differentiates between what's maybe required (pin configuration) for ECM/PCM info and maybe CCM/BCM information. http://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/...post1568131767 Attachment 5713 Hib - I believe that maybe the 02001575 is required to do SRC on the '94 - '95 with a 16 pin ALDL. Will it do the CCM also? I don't know. Screm - T100/T-100 seems to be what I always called though a CAMS terminal. Page 13 in this .pdf paper. CAMS I think was Computerized Automotive Maintenance System. I've never updated a MassStrorageCartridge but I'm quite sure this machine was used for them. http://tomboynton.com/GMnetworks.pdf |
Re: ISO Tech1 adapter 3000053 (16 - 12 ALDL)
Yep you cant see it in the my pic folks but there is a toggle on the side of the adapter that switches modes. Just like WV states and as seen in the CF Forum thread
