john,
This is exactly what i said, they must be at least more than 20 owners, and they should request to join this Zr1 net .
P.S. i hhink it will be good idea to making VOTE and we decide if they can join and do Section for them ! am i right?:icon_scra

BTW. I am so sure there will some going to fight over here if New Zr1 owners join,
there will be misunderstanding, we will bring war here!!
this ys from my Experience over CF

The C4 Z is unique in it's own way as the C6 Z will be. We should not feel threatened by the new one. We can be one big happy family. We can be an all inclusive ZR1 site.

Come on guys. GM says the LS9 is the successor to our LT5.

As a new member, I still think that we should include our "younger brothers." I figure that the more King of the Hill posters, the better!

Someone had already registered www.C6ZR1.com.
If we don't add the new ZR1 they will have their own board.
Years ago there were 2 Chrysler 300 forums, one embraced the new 300 the other did not. The forum that embraced the new 300 is still alive, the one that didn't died.

Now saying we would die if we don't do this but again I think it's the way to go.

I know this was created to fill a void of support for C4ZR1s.
But time changes things and we have to change with the times.

Inviting all C4 for the numbers would not be a good idea.

Rex- The new ZR1 needs a board of its own !!!! The only thing we share with the new ZR1 is a name. No technology is shared. What are we going to talk about ?????????????????

Sorry but I don't agree, I think they should have an area here. It's an opportunity for more members and revenue. If it were to happen maybe events at the museum would have enough attendance to be a ZR1 only event.

Over at CF I rarely go into any section other than C4, which would be the case for most here, you would mostly go into your area of interest.

I think we share more than a name:
Passion for fast corvettes
Passion for the best of Corvettes

Re: Are we including new ZR1 on this board?

Many good points here. I think we should go ahead and create a new "ZR1" section, but honestly, given that the only things in common between the 1990-1995 ZR-1' and the 2009-? ZR1's is the name, the new ZR1 owners are not going to be interested in joining our club unless, of course, they are "old" ZR-1 owners too. Create the section, invite them to join, and see what happens.

Nick, I think you've got the right idea. I just wonder what would motivate a C6 ZR1 owner to come here.

Exactly. They won't want to join us unless they are also ZR-1 owners. I am not sure why we are so presumptuous to think they will join or will be hurt if we don't invite them. If you think we are snobs, wait to you see the cats who shell out $100K ++ !!!!!!!

Nobody is suggesting they would be hurt. According to GM, the manufacturer no less, the ZR1 is the next generation of KOTH Corvettes.
That's why it belongs on this forum, IMO.

I seem to remember quite a few buyers of the C4 ZR-1 spent 100k+ and that was in 1990 DOLLARS.

Absolutely. Beyond that, we need to remember that our cars' sticker prices equaled about $91,000 in today's dollars. With the crazy dealer markups, it would easily surpass $100 grand - just like the new ZR1!

We should invite our new ZR1 brothers with open arms (even though they have that god awful engine cover!)

Without GM and guys like Dave McClellan, you wouldn't have one now.

so do we need a "ZR-1/lt5" forum and a "ZR1/ls9" forum? The way I see it we bought our cars because they were the best of the best. I bought my car because right off the showroom floor it would smoke anything out there. Our cars were and still are a force to be reconned with. The current ZR is the same. I may be wrong but I do beleive that the ZR stands for Zora Racer (I know some say it's not proven) but if it is, the old , the mid, and the new is what Zora Duntov wanted of our beloved vettes
