Ok, maybe more like $150 for calipers vs <$100... I thought they were cheaper. Two-piece rotors are pricey, and you might feel compelled to upgrade the rear to match, which is more pricey. I spent $900 on 4 two-piece rotors on my car, I don't think I'd do that again... They looked cool, but so do 9 C-notes.
It's hard to beat the C5+ rotor for performance, it's quite a bit thicker than the J55 front rotor. The caliper might not be super blingy, but the C6 version of it is pretty clean looking. Maybe Mike can chime in about their performance. He has a friend with an LT4 race car and uses C5 brakes. Mike was impressed with their abilities on the track. And they are cheap! Just FYI, if you only want looks, Baer has that 6-piston caliper with pads (C5 sized) that uses the stock J55 rotor for $1k. There'll be some performance upgrade from the extra clamping force, but mostly it looks cool, and uses standard replacement parts (C4 rotors, C5 pads). |

LG had a Wilwood SL6 set up for the C5 that a few C4 guys converted over and used. They were running the C4 to C5 adaptor brackets and the Wilwood Caliper. The LG set up utilized the stock C5 rotor so you could just purchase any "Stock" style 2 piece rotors and that should achieve the look you are going for. The Wilwood site shows the calipers in red and black so you may have a choice. I looked on LG's site and did not see the kit, it may be discontinued but I know it fit behind the GM stock C5 Z06 wheels and GM A-Molds. The only reason I stayed away from this set up was I had heard under hard conditions the pistons in the SL series of caliper had seized causing extreme pad wear and possible loss of braking. I have never seen it or even met anyone that had but I was skeptical so I went the route that I knew worked. Another option is the Wilwood?s from DRM for the C4; I am running this set up with absolutely no problems and the rotors are nice and thick along with the pads. Just my .02 but I feel a thicker rotor is better than a larger diameter one. Stop Tech also makes a nice set up but I believe it is the front only for the C4. Daniel |

13" Baer 6P on my daily driver. C5/C6 pad size so lots of compunds. I have 275/40-17 BFG KDs up front and you can lock them up whenever you want - lots of stopping power. I was also pleased with the pedal feel after installation - near stock stroke length.

I like using a bias spring in the master cylinder when converting over to C5 brakes. The bias spring reduces the front nose dive a bit when hitting the brakes.
