Re: Speeds at shift pointw
Alright, which gear gives you a higher top end, 4.10's or 3.45's? Realisticaly, not bench racing.

Steve
You can't pull 7500 in 6th gear? Bertha Must need a tune up... |

Lgaff and myself raced side by side one day at Byron. He ran about .3 faster than I did but we had trap speeds within .01mph of each other. Just one data point. He has 4.10s on his 92, I had 3.45s and we had nearly identical mods done to our motors. |
Re: Speeds at shift pointw
Dom, I assume you trapped in 3rd, and Lee trapped in 4th? Still, which would have a faster top speed.

Thanks, Paul, this is very useful information. |

I don't think a stocker will pull in 6th with either 3.45 or 4.10 rear gears. Pete |

If I recall even GM said the car would top out in 5th, not 6th. |
Re: Speeds at shift pointw
March 2, 1990 fort stockton 24 hour record run...they said they ran in fifth gear on the 7.7 mile track at 190 mph on straights and corners sapped it down to 175 then back up again running at 5500 rpm stock rear end which would be 3.45 i belueve so the chart is off just a touch assuming same tire size.
