Holy COW BF - those RC planes are huge! I don't guess they have Cox PeeWee .049's under the cowling??? Lycoming 's maybe? How many channels do they run? Is that a De Havilland? Do your kids ride in them? |
Re: Got Lucky tonite
OK there BF; time to 'fess up here - you're one of the PP's that bought the remnants of Cox?
Any Y/T vids of your birds in the air? |

Re: Got Lucky tonite
Schrade; Not sure which plane your referring to, but Yes there are a couple of De Havillands in there, a Super Chipmunk with a 62 inch wingspan and a Beaver with a 76 inch wing. Both have .9 cubic inch glow fuel engines and have 6 channel radios.
The Chipmunk has lot's of time on it and has not been an easy life for it. http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...pscf74e869.jpg Don't remember what I did, probably something stupid, probably about 10 years ago now. But I rebuilt it and it's still flying today; http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps529a30f4.jpg |

Actually there is one of those hanging in there too. Finished building it, just working on the covering now.

Re: Got Lucky tonite
Is it P40 or P38. I always thought the Flying Tiger stuff was 38's. I loved the
teeth on the lower engine cowl. Never actually got it to takeoff, then the fuel ate away at the plastic wings until it fell apart. I was left w just the engine and I built an engine mount out of my Erector set and run the motor w battery and fuel. Imagine doing that in a 4 room railroad apartment in Brooklyn. Noisy. |
