compressing the sway bar cushion to fit inside the bracket.....new cushion in the vice.....original on top....

Went out to the 74 yesterday and tried an unconventional method to clean the outside of the engine.....since I decided not to tear down the bottom end to get hot tanked, etc....figured I try something different......lol
Took my handheld steamer with me and used WD40 to get the job done......obtained very good results with this method......now all I need to do is give it a final wipe down to get ready for paint.....
Now it has been discussed whether or not this engine has been rebuilt or not during its low mileage life.......

We had an extremely productive day out at the 74..... high school and lifelong friend Paul Manger and I proceeded to tear down the rest of the 454......I was unsure on which direction to take......but as others have mentioned......your this far.....soooo......
Glad that we did.......I have quite a few pics to share......so comments are encouraged on what you see......
I will add some text to the pics......you will notice the bearing surfaces from the rod and main caps.....some look decent.....some not....and again.....I don't have the experience to determine the cause of what you'll see....
