Barney F/S again
Hi all-
Looks like '95 SN 00140, a Dark Purple Metallic car with a 500-hp, Automasters Street Skinner engine is up for sale again. I sold it in April of 2016 to (a person) in Gainesville for $21,000. Apparently (the person) has decided, after driving it less than 1000 miles, that he's had enough fun. 1995 VIN 00140 is for sale again for $22,000.00. He's even got it listed with all the spares and the FSMs I included when I sold it to him. https://daytona.craigslist.org/cto/d...641334124.html |

Boy oh boy. Love the color.

Re: Barney F/S again
He's not trying too efficiently. I've tried reaching him several times with no answer. I am going to be in his area next week and wanted to look at it.

Ted, I called and no answer. Maybe he is testing to sales waters.

Re: Barney F/S again
If it is pretty much as Hib sold it to him, it is a very good car. And beautiful to boot. Sometimes (the person) is hard to get a hold of. If he really wants to sell it I assume he will start responding sometime soon. Or maybe, as suggested, he is just trying to gauge interest. --Bob

Good thing it is far away. I just sold a car and have money burning a hole in my pocket.

Airline tix from San Diego to Miami is probably pretty cheap and...you only need to fly one-way.

I tried again to no avail. Thank goodness. I think I am finally DUN.

Re: Barney F/S again
The post on CL has expired. Either (the person) sold the car or changed his mind. I'm figuring the latter considering how soft the C4 ZR1 market has been. If the car has been sold, I hope the new owner is more into ZR1s and keeps it the way those cars deserved to be cherished.

Re: Barney F/S again
I think he gave up. He was down to $20k. Also had a 95 LT1 for sale.

Re: Barney F/S again
No deal, even at 20 large?
Poor Barney. |
Re: Barney F/S again
Hib,
Love the purple. I was soooo tempted the last time. |
Re: Barney F/S again
He let all posts expire a couple weeks ago. I haven’t checked to see if any are back up. If still for sale in Spring 2019 I will make a serious attempt to buy it. I never drive the Callaway any more and it needs to go to a new owner.

Re: Barney F/S again
I've been emailing back in forth with "Steve B" who current owns Barney, my former '95 VIN 0140.
The car is going to auction at Barrett-Jackson Northeast, 26-29 June 2019, at the Mohegan Sun Casino and Resort near Uncasville, Connecticut. Hopefully someone other than an off-shore buyer, a collector/waxer or a speculator will buy it. Barney needs a home with someone who will drive it and appreciate what the C4 ZR-1 was, the greatest American performance car of the late-90s and early-00s. |
Re: Barney F/S again
Hi everyone....Steve from Florida here. As you already know I am forced to sell Barney. I consigned the car to the Barrett Jackson Northeast auction and was assigned prime time Friday night, June 28th. Should go off sometime between 8pm - 9:30pm. Lot #445. They are thrilled to get the car because of its great history (thank you, Hib). I've enjoyed the car and it's been the best one of 91 cars that I've owned, including five others.
I'm hoping that I can help drive the prices up a little from the tanked prices they've been at. |

Just saw Barney and met Steve
at BJ @ Mohegan Sun. Nice car and nice guy! Good luck with the auction!!! Scheduled for Friday evening. |
Re: Barney F/S again
That's pretty cool. I will try to watch it. Lets hope it goes to a great home. Someone who will enjoy it the way it was meant to be.

Re: Barney F/S again
Hope somebody can record the couple of minutes and post up when Barney goes through. Still overseas.
Thanks |
Re: Barney F/S again
Good luck!
