she had vintage power too! http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/c...Rock7-9506.jpg I talked with the owner, and he built this kit himself. Nice period stuff going on here. http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/c...Rock7-9143.jpg In the Porsche corral I found this. It did a pace lap too. It had to be the oldest 911 at the event. |

I've got a CD with about 100 photos on it for you. Would post some but don't know how to make them large size like Tom's. Will give the CD to you at Carlisle. Jim V's wife also took a bunch of photos. I can't remember the name of guy with the spyder Z convertible, but I think he said he was a registry member. Was a great time, had a good showing of the NE brotherhood. |

I also have all of them on my HHD so if the registry would want any for what ever I'll burn a CD and send them to Phil, okay? Dave, on the vert ZR-1. I think yes he did buy that car out of CA last year. Sorry I should have taken notes...I'll get the hang of being a state director yet, I promise. Tom |

Re: ALMS at Lime Rock pictures
I'll do my best to get on to Doug and see if he can persuade the vert to show up at Carlisle. Doug lives very close to where the gentleman is from in CT.
I'll take it up at the next informal meeting of the North East section at our get together in Newtown, CT on Tuesday nights. Tom |
Re: ALMS at Lime Rock pictures
Hello from Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. What a fantastic time we had at Lime Rock!!!!
Thanks John and Doug for setting up the ZR-1 event!!!! Thanks for posting the pics Tom and John. I will post some pics later tonight. When we arrived in Saint John this afternoon, everyone we met said: "Nice car, you have to be in the Tuesday Night Cruise on the Boardwalk." So, that is where we are headed right now. More later. That Z Roadster was off the hook. I spoke to the owner for about 15 minuetes. Somewhere in my archieves I have an article on that car. I promised the owner that I would dig it up. Not so easy but I will give it my best shot. |
Re: ALMS at Lime Rock pictures

Re: ALMS at Lime Rock pictures
Had a great time with the Brotherhood at Lime Rock. The steel blue metallic "Spyder" is mine; Mike Beal, Middletown, CT.. I did buy it out of CA and I'm trying to verify the history. I'm hoping someone can help me fill in some blanks. I know the vehicle (VIN 1G1YZ23J1M5801322) was originally owned by a Dr. Larry Bartschi of Chico, CA. I have been unable to make contact with him to verify the information provided me (I have reason to suspect that he is not well or perhaps deceased) - that is, the conversion was done by Metalcrafters of CA (they, too have not responded to any inquiries to either verify or deny their involvement.) Bartschi allegedly spent 175K on this car. I did verify that he sent the engine to Kim Baker who modified the engine. Baker does not retain any records beyond 10 yr. (so, no verification of dynoed engine numbers), but he estimates it must be from 450 to 480 hp (it was represented to be a 475hp engine by the seller, Corvette Mike CA.) I've had two people tell me they recall the car being featured in some periodical back in the 90's - it would be great if someone out there has this article or could direct me to where I could find one. The car has a little over 30K on it, is tight and runs out beautifully. I respect the machine and baby it - we all know what she's capable of if allowed to break out - our LT5s have proven themselves since their inception.
I would appreciate any info, advice, comments from members - I trust your good sense and judgement. |
Re: ALMS at Lime Rock pictures
Doug deserves all the credit for setting this up. Without his posts we would have surely missed this event.
Great job Doug and Thanks!!!! |
