How to solve a dull Saturday

Soooo, it's the middle of winter in NY and you have the winter blues, so what do you do?
Get out with some of your C5 bros and go crusin' of course!

Just so you believe me that we were actually on a road!:sign10:

http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/c...wisties015.jpg
going down hill....

http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/c...wisties009.jpg
still going down hill....

http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/c...wisties016.jpg
still going down hill, but with nice spacing!

It was a great way to spend what would be a dull and dreary winter Saturday in lower NYS. Man these cars can cure a bad day!

Thank you Kind Sir! It seemed like the logical thing to do with no snow or salt on the roads! Besides, what's better? Sit at home & watch TV or go out and play with my toy? I vote the latter, but then I'm not know for my cognitive prowess! Just ask Doug!:sign10:

Doug's car is up on blocks, undercover and locked away in some vault.

It's not a vault, it's a garage... and it could possibly be my home if the Lady of the House so wishes...

Yes John, I believe you're right about that! I just can't figure out why? I don't believe in saving "it" for the next owner! The original owner of my car saved "it" for the next guy....ME!....and I'm not saving Her for anyone else!

:o Besides, Mistress told me she doesn't like being locked away in some garage....no matter how nice the garage is decorated! So I indulge Her, and take Her out every chance I get!;)

Oh, Hi Doug!:p

Hope so! Hey, what road were you guys on? I was trying to see if I recognized anything, but really couldn't... thought maybe the Taconic or Saw Mill, but it's been a few years since I traveled those parts.

Re: How to solve a dull Saturday

Hi Andrew! We meet up at the Bear Mountain Inn...well sort of as it's been reopened after a restoration job. Anyway, we followed the park road around past Perkins Drive to the Palisades Pkwy and got off onto 7 Lakes Drive. Thru the park Bittermann, you know how I like the Park!:sign10:

We eventually come out of 7 Lakes drive onto 9W like way north of West Point. We do some of the good two lane out back of West Point near where their Motor Pool and Armory depots are. Then we get back on 9W to go up the hill in the picts and we stopped at the pull over/overlook and the field in the picts is West Point's intramural/practice field. Back up the hill and after a while pop a U and back down the hill till we get back to the Bear Mt bridge ( mirror shot ) and across the bridge on to 9 something again and then on to 6 and a stop at The Stadium bar & grill for lunch. After lunch, back on 6 north and then meet up with the Taconic Pkwy at Wappinger's Falls and run down the best part of the Taconic and we all split off as that's the end of the cruise!

It was a great way to hang with vette Bros and catch up on old times and cure a winter Saturday. We all hang over at CF in the North East Events section. That's how I fell in with these guys when I first got my Z back in 04.

Tom

Oh, Hi Doug!:p

Oh, Hi Tom Tom

Indulge this...:-D
The garage is coming along nicely! I should have the ceiling done by this weekend.
As far as saving "it" :dancing It had 3512 miles on it when I got it in Aug. of '08, 3 different owners saved it for me! The 1st guy only put about 160 miles on it! Now its got a little over 19k on it, almost 5k last year alone! Burgeritaville, Heavenly Donuts, Lime Rock and Carlisle ain't just across the street ya know...
So thppptt...:-D

And you Big John? We'll discuss this in person... :dancing
Ya gotta admit, my garage is better than that crappy little shed I had in Ledyard. It'd be even better if I could convince you know who to leave her Bimmer outside... Are ya coming with me on the 3rd?

What's a Bimmer??? After the M1 they have gone all downhill.
I like your garage better than the old tool shed.

600 miles! 600 miles! You sure that was enough running time to get the condensation out of all the fluids?:sign10:

Everyone pay attention! Doug is going to reschedule our meeting that was to take place on March 3rd!

Thank you for your attention!

Re: How to solve a dull Saturday

Thanks for the help Lou:dancing

Apologies to everyone, but I've got to reschedule our NE group get together. A very close friend of my family, passed away this week and they've scheduled a memorial service on Saturday March 3rd the day we've had our meeting scheduled. I'm sure everyone understands and I apologize for any inconvenience. I know you guys can get along just fine, if not better without me, but damn, I don't want to miss out! So here's the new deal: Saturday, March 10 at noon, same location etc.
Please let me know if this will workout.
Thanks,
Doug

Okay, pay attention. Our meeting is rescheduled for Saturday March 10th in Hartford at 12PM.

Thank you for your attention!
