A/O Engineering ram air
The 94 I'm buying has this set-up. Since Texas requires a front plate, that might present a problem. If my local LE decides to make it one,how much trouble would it be to put the front plate mounting bracket back on the car? I never ran a front plate on my last two ZR-1's but our city didn't have the proliferation of motorcycle cops back then that they do,now. Those fellas don't need much of an excuse to stop you and they never give out warnings.
Any input is appreciated. |

You should find nothing that would restrict the install of a front tag or for that matter if you preferred later the "CORVETTE" fascia cover that is typically used in a "single tag" jurisdiction. |

Thank you,Dave. That's the info I was looking for.

Re: A/O Engineering ram air
If you're interested in keeping your system as is and adding a bracket below I can did up the information to send you for the bracket I have. It is very nice, lightweight aluminum and requires just to hidden holes on the underside of your bumper. The bracket allows you to mount any angle and height you want to adjust it to. I did not want to remove the ZR-1 insert so I bought this bracket.

Re: A/O Engineering ram air
Just to update this: I ordered one of Skene Design's license plate mounts for our 94 Z. Made of billet aluminum and utilizing stainless fasteners, this looks like the best alternative I found that will still allow me to retain the A/O Engineering forced air.
Craig, thanks for your help in posting that link and pics of your car w/mount. |

You are very welcome and you won't be disappointed with Skene Design; it is so adjustable too and you can even move it lower than in my photos. Best wishes, Craig |
Re: A/O Engineering ram air
If my '90 had the original body, instead of the later body, I'd have integrated scoops like the Active Suspension car. Maybe off of an old F/B Formula.
Then an A/O intake could be routed through there... http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/.../5active41.jpg |
Re: A/O Engineering ram air
Someone ought to make a 90 degree rotating plate housing, it could work like the muffler butterfly assemblies on the Z06 and rotate the plate sideways when in performance mode.

Yep, there are several of these on the market but I've never seen one mounted in the factory Corvette lp hole, not sure if it would fit or not. |
