I guess Corvettes DON'T melt in rain :D

Re: Carlisle '14
It's not a sin for a corvette to get wet, it's a sin to not dry them down!

Special guest G. Gordon Liddy
It was an honor to have dinner at Stock's with a real piece of American history. Found this book by accident at an antique/old book shop in Mystic this morning, too bad it wasn't last week, could have asked him to autograph it. There's a picture of him and his ZR-1 in it! . |
Re: Carlisle '14
Does he still own the ZR-1
|
Re: Carlisle '14
Sure does!
He had it at Carlisle! Last year too. |

Re: Carlisle '14
I had a wonderful time once again this year at Carlisle. The only problem it was way too short. Anyone up for a Mountain Run next year? There has to be some pretty decent hills up near Carlisle?

BTW, Saturday driving home, about one mile from my condo parking garage, my alternator gave up the ghost. I had just enough juice in the battery to pull in and park my car in my designated space. Am I pissed? Hell no! I was thinking my alternator looked too grungy after all that powder coating on the cam covers and plenum. What a great excuse/opportunity to get a new alternator and spray paint in silver (to avoid typical raw aluminum staining) to match the rest of the motor. It all depends on how you look at it. Robert, I agree. I had a great time meeting and talking to all those who share my passion. Like you said, seems too short. Funny how 8 hours at work seems like an eternity and the same 8 hours at Carlisle passes like in a blink. |
Re: Carlisle '14
you're going to be able to take the plenum off in your sleep soon!

Re: Carlisle '14
Does anyone know the total of cars that were there?
Nelson007 |
Re: Carlisle '14
Nelson - We had 71 cars registered.... I don't have the total number that passed through our area between Friday and Saturday.
Yun - sorry to hear about your troubles.... but you always seem to make lemonade out of lemons! I'm sure you are going to start another trend among the community for power-coated alternators. The weekend sure did pass too fast, and there were a lot of folks I didn't get to catch up with as many other things were going on.... I did enjoy at least seeing everyone and being able to participate in the 25th reunion of the Challenge Cars, and the opportunity for Beth and I to parade #27 to the Carlisle Expo Center on Friday evening for the Race Dinner. I think I spent Saturday trying to dry off, as did Everett and Brett, as we were drenched working the parking crew. I'm not sure I ever did, but Sunday was a beautiful day for those who were able to remain! It was a great trip.... 10 days in total from San Antonio! Regards, Mark |
Re: Carlisle '14
Great turnout.

Re: Carlisle '14
Not only the turnout was super....
The support from the vendors of the ZR-1 Net Registry raised over $1,800!!! Special thanks to: FIC Injectors Jerrys Gaskets Marc Haibeck Bill Wenzel Vette 2 Vette Frank Urbinatti So many helped out with set up, breakdown, cooking, parking and merchandising!! Our club was the largest club for the second year in a row!! The weather could have been better, but we still packed the cars in and had a blast!!! Already planning for next year.... David |
Re: Carlisle '14
Carlisle was a blast. Saturday wasn't so bad , better weather would have brought about a much bigger crowd. Hat's off to our directors and all that helped make the event a very successful one.

Re: Carlisle '14
maybe next year put numbered stickers on the parking passes of all the cars so we know how many cars we had total?

Re: Carlisle '14
As David stated, we all owe a special thanks to our friends and loyal supporters, without whom Corvettes at Carlisle wouldn't be the same:
FIC Injectors Jerrys Gaskets Marc Haibeck Bill Wenzel Vette 2 Vette Frank Urbinatti These guys are the best! Thank you!!! |
