Break stuff loose?
Hammers are used for applying calibrated mechanical agitation....:dancing |
Re: Tools to Carry in the ZR-1
If you've ever attended one of Gordon's schools you might have had the opportunity to watch him demonstrate the proper use of a hammer ... I think it was the BFH model.
http://zrwon.com/events/050510/slides/P5100822.JPG FWIW, he straightened a slightly bent rim ... didn't seem possible, but it worked  |
Re: Tools to Carry in the ZR-1
:sign10: And if you screw up with the hammer (or the calibrated mechanical agitation) make sure you have the Triple A Card handy like Phil uses.
And.........you can always take the rims you screw up with a hammer and make great Air Hose Reels out of them........You Guys :D Quote:

Merry Christmas to you Cliff, thanks for all you do for the forum.

Re: Tools to Carry in the ZR-1
There's nothing on a Corvette that Gordon can't fix!!!

Re: Tools to Carry in the ZR-1
Cliff,
Thanks for posting the tool list ... this is very helpful. Couple of questions, though ...
Still much to learn on my part but I'm trying to remember if I've ever used much more than 8mm, 10mm, 13mm, 15mm sockets. I like the way you layer the tools in the two storage compartments. Ever consider carrying the oil in the front of the engine compartment (left or right side)? or is that not a good idea? I think that if it leaked it would be easier to clean up the inside of the fender area rather than the storage compartments. |
Re: Tools to Carry in the ZR-1
I also carry a 12v compressor tire plug kit and a small tube of hand cleaner.

There may be room under or next to the AMSOIL for this 12 volt portable air compressor or something like it. |
Re: Tools to Carry in the ZR-1
Excellent topic! Y'all have filled in a couple holes in my "kit". :happy1:

Re: Tools to Carry in the ZR-1
The only tools I carry in the car are the tools to remove the spoiler and a new tow strap to be used to get it on the back of a flatbed truck for a tow.

You also have to figure out where to connect the Tow Truck Tow Strap to the front of your ZR1 :p Oh....I guess you removed the spoiler so now what ;) |
