New Member with New Ride
Just bought a 1993 #330 today. It is Bloomington Gold and Top Flight certified. White with red. It will be parked next to 2012 #172 Centennial 1 of 5 with Machined Silver wheels instead of black. I will call them Salt and Pepper. Now for the wait for it to be delivered next week.

Re: New Member with New Ride
Very cool!
Of course, we need pictures ... |
Re: New Member with New Ride
I will see if the seller will email some to me. It is incredible looking. I can see how it got the awards. Already telling myself to leave it alone and enjoy it as is.

Re: New Member with New Ride
Sounds like a really sweet ZR-1. Texas is the Land of Plenty when it comes to ZR-1's.
|
Re: New Member with New Ride
Congrats on the ZR-1! Sounds like a gooood one. Enjoy, and welcome!
 |
Re: New Member with New Ride
Good to see another Houston area member. Great car, have fun with it. If you decide to mod it Corey is a short drive away.
|
Re: New Member with New Ride
Hey 32,
Tell me more about Corey. Have certain things in mind but do not want to detract from the certifications it has. Also let me know if you around Houston so we can meet up sometime. |
Re: New Member with New Ride
That's awesome . Looking forward to the pics . Welcome to the forum amd congrats on the car . Order your Mark Haibeck chip now ...

About Corey Henderson, I would consider him the resident Texas expert on the LT-5 and C4 ZR-1s, also most things Bowtie related. Corey recently made me a set of Headers using the Jeal Jigs. So they are Jeal Headers but I call them Henderson headers, he also did a Dyno tune for me. I came out of that with 383 Hp to the wheels, and ran a 12.4 @115. Headers though would probably effect the certifications on your car. Internal work like porting I would not think would get the attention of the judges. If anyone can get you additional HP and keep your points intact I think Corey can. look up Henderson performance on youtube, I think there is video of the maroon Camaro he built for the Texas Mile. One thing to keep in mind is that Corey is a specialty shop, do not expect a quick turnaround. I found email to be a good tool for communicating with him. It's a nice drive over there and there Greune River Grill http://gruenerivergrill.com is a good pit stop thats real close to his shop. Drop Me a PM and we can go for cruise one day. |
Re: New Member with New Ride
Thanks for the info! Definitely we can hook up for a cruise. Since I have not learned how to post pics here this other forum link has them:

Re: New Member with New Ride
Great looking Z welcome
|
Re: New Member with New Ride
Damn, I drooled over that Beast on EBAY......Very nice purchase! I would keep that Z just as is, but that's just me :fahne:

Re: New Member with New Ride
That's the one. I waited until it got under 24hrs left and called the guy. We came to an agreement and he took the listing down. Doing paperwork on it now. This is taking me back to my early 20's when all I could do is dream about them.
Oh yeah, I am leaving it as is for now. Not sure I really want to change anything and ruin the documentation. |

What a nice white bleeder. Corey is a great guy. But, 32v is right. Don't get in a hurry 'cause he's not. But, it will be done right the first time. He's done a lot of work on my car and not once has there been an issue. And email is DEF the best way to reach him. Cool cat to know.
Hey, I'm in the process of planning a Texas ZR-1 gathering in the next couple of weeks. We'll meet on a Sat in Buffalo (on 45) at a park and just bring a cooler with food and drinks and we'll hang out and talk cars, eat, drink...maybe smoke some cigars if that's your thing. We'd love to meet you and see your car. We did it a couple of years ago and it was really nice relaxing day. Wife's are welcome and it's close enough to pretty much everyone to make it a day trip. Look under the Club Regional Areas of the forum under Southwest Region and I'll post the details. I'll also post on CF here shortly. Hope to see you and your ride there. |
Re: New Member with New Ride
Nice ride congrats...You Texas guys are making me jealous....You must have some nice open roads right in your own backyards.....Here in the tri state area its an urban jungle...
Sometimes I call my vettes the 7-11 cars, meaning.out before 7 am or out past 11 pm....Thats when you will see me behind the wheel of my Corvettes.......Theres no such thing as Sunday drive anymore unless your out before 7am and get your car back in the garage by 11 am... |

How about the Royals Car Show (really a big cruise-in, no judging) at Lime Rock on Sunday the 29th? It'd be a nice ride for ya and get out of the city and into the country! I'll be there, Big John too, look me up up if ya decide to go. How about some of you other NE ZR-1ers? Doug |

Meadowbrook parkway all the way out towards jones beach.....Pretty much a straight shot on ocean pkwy......Lots of spots to really open her up since your just surrounded by water on both sides... I believe the Long Island exotic car club meet there plus hundreds of other really sharp cars....They get there early and its on till like 11-12 in the afternoon .. |
Re: New Member with New Ride

Hi David,
Would love too. What date is it? |
Re: New Member with New Ride
Don't have it set yet. It'll be in the next couple of weeks. Keep an eye on the Southwest Region board. That's where I'll post it.

Re: New Member with New Ride
I was told in the other forum that it is next Saturday. I am currently booked to be out of town on June 10-15 if you are looking two weeks from now. I will sit tight and wait for the formal announcement and hope I am available.

Re: New Member with New Ride
Ereeves, whenever it happens, I will get the caravan from Houston together. I will PM you my phone number. What part of the Woodlands do you live in?

Re: New Member with New Ride
Car will be delivered this Saturday. Now I need to go get it smogged. Any recommendations for the Conroe/Woodlands area?
|
Re: New Member with New Ride

You mean inspected, right? Look at manufacture date on driver door. If its close to 25 years, wait. Only $6-$10. No smog test. My 93 passed smog easily. |
Re: New Member with New Ride
Thanks! Its a 93 so I have to smog it one time. I hope it passes because she has been sitting for a couple of years without being really driven.
