I am hoping to meet Tony D but he may be across the pond teaching flying skills I am buying Schrade's Automatic Z Ted so the plan is one white one red one and a Blue ZR1 when I retire lol. This should be a Ted approved plan. No that's not a typo next ride will be a 09-11 ZR1. GC I am pretty stoked |
Re: Something Wicked This way comes

Re: Something Wicked This way comes
GC- You mentioned that you're buying an automatic Z. Are you getting it for racing? Or just the street?
I always wondered what could be done with a, (more or less), automatic stock motor Z in the 1/4mi. |

Re: Something Wicked This way comes
I've been working with Chuck for months now sending him parts and fixing nit noid issues. The passenger seat motor has been replaced, the tab in the console. The gauges refreshed by Batee, Trading parts with -=JEFF=- and Cliff. This is a great community and my friends thought it was cool to buy another registry members car.
Already bought LED tailights, and a few odds an ends. Got a great deal on those from newegg of all places and about 60% less than I paid 8 years ago. |

Are you going to do a Cliff like Photographic Coverage of the ZR1 and LT5? I am taking 1990 #72 to South Dakota in a couple weeks so it can meet its brothers #3032 and #2067 :D Then in Dec back to CA via I40 :p |

I zipped mama up to Flagstaff a few weeks ago she likes how comfy the 91 is compared to the F-150 King Ranch which is like riding on upholstered bricks lol. I keep telling her well its a truck...... So it rides like a truck |

Re: Something Wicked This way comes
So the road trip started today at 210am with the arrival of Supershuttle at the house. We left for NC and arrived in Charlotte and awaited our flight to Fayetteville which was late over an hour as the nose wheel had to be replaced for safety issues. Chuck picked us up and drove us to Snow Hill NC about 1.5 hrs to look over the car. It was exactly as Chuck stated but it was getting late in the day so after a quick trip to the Court House after hours we were able to get the title signed and notorized and then on the way headed back home leaving about 730 pm. We stopped in South Carolina for the night. Here are a few quick photos as most of the day was spent on air and roadway travel just to get to the car.

Safe travels!!!

Re: Something Wicked This way comes
I assume you also have Schrade's photos and videos on that restoration? Schrade was very meticulous in his documentation and that is prolly the most documented car around
Keep us posted on how it runs and especially how that automatic works for you. I have an automatic from a 1990 L98 on the bench just in case. I wonder if it is the same automatic you have in that ZR-1? :D Installing a new oil pan gasket on a low mileage 1990 ZR0-1 today (#072). |

Re: Something Wicked This way comes
Day 2 heading to Enterprise AL to see my son who is currently in Pilot training and due to graduate Soon. In Mongomery AL an hour away from Enterprise the Battery light came on so I pulled over to a gas station. The alternator was smoking hot and smoldering. I tried to start the car and no Bueno. So I walked to Pep Boys and then a GM dealership with pop just to see laughably if a alternator was available....again no surprise no Bueno. So we arranged for a rental as we await the replacement alternator from Jerry. So we left the car secured at the dealership and headed to take my son out to dinner. A lot of folks called and offered to help as well. So we took my son to the best steakhouse in Enterprise AL. Once again thanks for all the support.
http://i1120.photobucket.com/albums/...psklnro2j3.jpg We are going to the Aviation museum tomorrow so I will take lots of photos to update here as a lot of folks don't have the opportunity to see it |

So we went to The Ft Rucker Aviation Museum today http://i1120.photobucket.com/albums/...psc3lpbkym.jpg ARMY Wright Brothers Flyer http://i1120.photobucket.com/albums/...pss6fqjlol.jpg http://i1120.photobucket.com/albums/...pszzfpjlf3.jpg MOH receipiant Fred Ferguson. I worked with him in the Arizona Army National Guard for about ten years until he retired, I was honored to be colleague and friend. He is a Professional aviator all the way. He received the MOH from president Nixon as a Major. He reverted to Warrent Officer and retired as a CW5. He loved salsa. Could never get enough and it matched his personality http://i1120.photobucket.com/albums/...psjhngk7jc.jpg http://i1120.photobucket.com/albums/...psjwh7euzs.jpg |
