Clutch fluid low
Moved the car today to readjust how my kwiklift is in the garage.
Clutch felt not right. Turns out it was empty. I saw no signs of leaking. Guess that is another thing to add to my winter list. Sent from my iPhone using ZR-1 Net Registry |

Appears that the Clutch Master is $160 + $40 Core Charge. Appears that the Clutch Slave is $160 for 90' and $150 for 91'-95' with no Core. I am not so sure the information is current on the Web Site........... Phone (641) 342-7446 Let us know the response you get in e-mail  |

$50 for the slave and $60 for the master plus $13.45 shipping. He will only rebuild the original Lucas-Girling design with the 1/8th thick flange where the bolts go through. At this price point a group buy will not be an option but I feel this is a fair price. I will be sending my pair off. GC |

Anyway.......Who can complain about the $50 and $60 price......at that price he will get several I am sure. He must take the one you send in for rebuild and replace seals and maybe plunger only for $50 and $60? I will check all of my Masters and Slaves to make sure. Is there anymore information regarding the Lucas-Girling design identification with the 1/8th thick flange and does that apply to both the Master and Slave? |
Re: Clutch fluid low
I wonder if Tilton or any aftermarket manufacturer has a compatible master. I have the McLeod twin disk clutch on my 93 lt1 car and it came with an aluminum master.
maybe Jerry would be willing to speak with some manufacturers ? im sure we could come up with enough interest for a group buy to start. I believe all c4s LT1/4/5 share the masters as well? positive there would be interest there as well. |

Yes it apples to both. Basically if its a smooth and painted body its the original MC. AF market are cast metal and have a thicker flange |

This is who I had rebuild my oem slave from the '92. I still have his rebuild. Nice guy to work with, and seems to know lots about the master and slave cylinder. I am slowly building up parts for my next ZR-1. |

Nice update -=JEFF=-

Re: Clutch fluid low
Replaced both mine this year also. Jim rebuilt both. I don't believe he has any of the $160.00 ones left. Great guy really helped me out but when I talked to him last month he said something about retiring. Just info only.

Re: Clutch fluid low

Re: Clutch fluid low
Found my issue.. Slave is leaking round the body.. I will have to get a picture.. good thing I have one spare
Now to find time to fix it |
Clutch fluid low
Slave swapped and working. Sent the old one and Master cylinder to Jim. He worked his magic and they are on their way back. I wore out the seal on the slave. Master is an OEM GM part in excellent shape so he rebuilt it for me as well
