About White Racing Products.

Hi,Guys.

My name is Kenji.I live in Japan, and I purchased '95 year model ZR-1 in 1995 and still owns it.

Improvement of oil leak from engine and engine painting which was damaged are improved now.
There are parts that need to be replaced in order to do work, and we have decided to procure parts with some ZR-1 special shops.
One of the shops was White Racing Products.
I ordered parts from the Web shop and settled in Paypal, but there was no contact from the shop at all and there was no contact with the inquiries at all.
After all, since there was no contact for many inquiries and the parts did not reach, I applied for complaints to Paypal and was refunded.

Now that many of the parts of ZR - 1 have been discontinued, the parts that White Racing Products stocks are very valuable.

But why does not the part arrive even though ordering and payment are completed? Why can not you contact them?

Perhaps the company is on the verge of bankruptcy?
Does anyone have information about White Racing Products?

If you know something, could you please tell me?

Best regards.

Kenji.

Kenji,

Thanks for sharing.

I had a similar experience a year ago. White Racing's website had the part I needed, I placed the order but it didn't arrive after a reasonable time (and I'm only a US state away from them). It took many attempts to contact them but was able to get a refund. It was not a pleasant experience and I lost a lot of time.

Why don't you try calling him? his site is not up to date on a lot of parts listed.

Or better yet contact Jerry at Jerry's gaskets--he has lots of parts for LT5s or Mark Haibeck who should be able to help on some things. If they don't have things you need they can probably tell you who has them. Or alternatively, post here on the forum what you need and maybe someone will come up with them. Good luck with your efforts--the '95 is a great car that deserves to run well.--Bob

Right. Just set the alarm for the middle of the night and make the long distance calls from Japan.

It's not expecting too much to receive a product that has been paid for, or to let you know your order will be late, or may never come, or to respond to multiple emails.

In my case, it took a LOT of phone calls before a person answered. They apologized and gave a refund, but I was 2+ weeks without the part I needed.

I do agree with the suggestion of dealing with Jerry or Marc. They are both great.

Hi Kenji, what are you looking for? If it would be helpful somebody on this side can help get the part and then forward it to you with the exception of WHITE RACING PRODUCTS. I don't do business with Kurt White for obvious reasons.

I had a problem as well was resolved with a phone call I guess some people are luckier then others. You can send an email as well.

Re: About White Racing Products.

I just did a Google Search on "White Racing Products". Lots of bad experiences pop up on the first page of hits.

Admittedly, some are old (2003, 2004), and some people have been happy with what they've bought.

Other people mentioned BBB complaints.

My hunch is he has/had high quality parts/knowledge in the past, but the service is so sporadic, and awful at times, why risk it (if you can get what you need from someone with a good reputation)?

Hi,RussMcB.

Thank you for your reply.
You also had trouble with the acquisition of parts of ZR.
A few years ago when I ordered parts for White Racing Products, the parts arrived safely to me. But this time I got a very disappointing result.

Hi,G8nightman.

Thank you for your reply.
Why am I not contacted by phone? My English conversation skills are low, so for me it is difficult to communicate by phone.
I attempted to contact the auto parts supplier to Japan for contact with White Racing Products.
After all he also did not get in touch with White Racing Products.

Hi,Bob.Thank you for your reply.
Yes!I know Jerry's Gaskets,I bought a lot of parts from him for this repair.
However, there were parts not listed on the Web-Site of Jerry's Gaskets.
(for example, camshaft position sensor, and secondary vacuum hose kit
)
So I ordered parts for White Racing Products.

Jerry's Gaskets, I trust very much. I am grateful to him for his prompt and courteous correspondence.

I not only contacted the e-mail address many times, but also mailed Mr. Kurt White, but there was no reply.

Hi,Z51JEFF

Thank you for your reply.
During the repair this time, my mechanic dropped LT 5 from ZR.
And he changed many Gaskets, Seal, various sensors, Fuel Injector an more...
and painted the engine.
However, camshaft-sensor and Vacuum hose rebuild kit could not be obtained. The mechanics decided to use parts that I used to date for camshaft-sensor. Vacuum Hose also decided to remodel the parts so far and use it.
I would like to use new parts if possible. Because these parts are parts that have been operated while being exposed to high temperature conditions for a long time, I judged that it would be better to replace them at this time.

And I think that I want my son to keep on riding my ZR-1.

I bought (or tried to buy) from White Racing a couple years ago. Two weeks went by with no contact. By the time I finally got in contact, they told me the part was out of stock. Umm...then update the website. I'm not in the habit of giving out interest free loans to strangers.

All my experiences with Jerry's have been prompt and correct. He has also gone out of his way to provide me with information.

what a joke of a guy. He has done this for years.

Hi,spork2367

Thank you for your reply.
I think that a company that opens online shopping should respond promptly to updating the availability of parts and always inquiring from purchasers.
I was disappointed in correspondence of White Racing products.

I also purchase good parts with Jerry's Gaskets. I am very thankful for his swift and polite response. He also responded very well also in my procurement of parts this time.

lfalzarano 07-13-2017 09:33 AM

Re: About White Racing Products.

Update on Kurt White from an email he sent me.

"I moved to Europe, so most of my orders either get cancelled if my local warehouse in Tampa doesn’t stock ,or I can’t drop ship. So yes, I moved on from the ZR-1 stuff, I get messages from time to time, and never answer the phone because I don’t live there anymore.

I cancel 80% of all orders now, just no more stock, wish I could sell the stuff, but just don’t have it.

Best.

Kurt"

So we need to shop elsewhere as suggested to Jerry's or Marc's.

Well that kinda sucks. Sure, I do prefer purchasing from the above mentioned, but Kurt has (had?) quite a lot of parts others were lacking. Perhaps Jerry could get a good deal on the remaining stock if Kurt wants out?

Everyone, thank you for your comment.
Regrettable results on the subject of White Racing Products this time were disappointing, but my mind settled down a little because of kind comments from many people.
Thank you very much.

The other day the oil leak repair was over, the engine paint finished, the LT 5 was reloaded.

Well, I am still crying in my beer. I sent Kurt my 1990 original radio to be rebuilt. I got his name and number from our ZR-1net site. Did not bother to check it out. I was in a rush, called White Jul 1st, he answered said he would rebuild it and return in 5 business days. Days go by, would not pick up or return emails. Now I see he has skipped town stealing from people like me. I have not been burnt like this and it hurts. My car is a 4 star cross flag award with 10,700 original miles. I would appreciate any input on sourcing another am/fm cassette cd radio in immaculate working condition.

The July 1 you mention is 2017?

I don't know that you could consider your self "a victim" yet! Did you take snapshots of your radio? there's Delco information on I believe 2 sides.

I have a likely donor if needed. My face-plate/bezel is certainly 100% and all of the knob/button script is 100%.
