We are late getting rooms but were fortunate to secure a block of rooms at the same hotel we were at last two years. Unfortunately the restaurant and bar are still closed but there are several restaurants and a bar within a 5 minute walk.

The price for a single King or two Queens is $89+tax and includes breakfast. Please call the hotel directly and identify yourself as ZR-1 Net Registry member. The contact information is:

Post up and let us know if you are planning on staying there or if you have made other arrangements. Right now Steve (Efnfast) and I will be there. The bar down the street (Boomerangs) was decent. The hotel promised to put us in the rooms up front with the updated AC systems. The hotel is 16 miles from the fairgrounds. I found some hotels closer but in the $200/night range and availability was an issue. I have been told that other groups have rooms blocked at closer hotels and if they are not confirmed by July 12 they will be released so we have options. Respond to email from the Registry so we can have an idea on your preference, location, price, bar etc.

Just booked a room for Friday and Saturday night. Thanks for doing this. Stayed at the Hampton Inn next to the fairgrounds last year, which was great, but I believe it was 240 a night. Wife will be happy I'm saving money. Thanks again.

I spoke to them regarding using the empty bar, we bring the bartender and the booze......
Sure there will be issues regarding liquor license but will see what kind of salesman I am. Will keep you posted.

As hotel guests, we also get 10% off food at Boomerangs down the street. They had some very good food.

When you call to make your reservation, make sure you tell them you are part of the ZR-1 Net Registry group. I made my booking and did not get an email confirmation so I called back today. They had mistakenly put me in with a different Corvette group out of NY. Make sure you get your email confirmation.

I checked about using their bar and it is a no go, old room furniture is in there now. But there is a chance they will have a cash bar in the atrium area where they have breakfast. Should know in about 2 weeks.

They have no objection if we have a keg and drink in the parking lot as long as nobody complained about noise.

We are getting assigned the newly renovated rooms so book early and post up so we can keep track of how many rooms we have used out of our block.

Called again and confirmed the reservation.
Ask for Rob, a nice and busy guy, he seems to know what‘s going on.
Like Charlie says, make sure it‘s understood your
interested in the ZR-1 Block and get a confirmation number.

First batch of 30 lbs of pork on the fire at 6am this morning and will be done in about 9 hours. Will be doing the same tomorrow and Wednesday. We start eating on Thursday!

This year was working on tweaking the sauce a little bit and adding something special. Last year it was figs, this year roasted pineapple, mango and habanero peppers. Bring your appetite, will have 75 lbs. done

This may be a bit from left field, but I'm going to throw it out there anyway.
Since I am "In the Middle of Nowhere" Texas, I would have had to leave yesterday to get there. Nearly 1,600 miles.
I am looking for a few items for my '90. If anyone would be so inclined, I would appreciate it if you would keep an eye out for me.
Here's the list:
Correct dated fuel cap. (My car built 10/89).
Bag for owners manual.
Wheel lock kit bag. (Green I am pretty sure)
Correct rear license plate screws. 4 or more.
I would sure be glad to reimburse for any of these items plus a little if you happen to see them. I'll leave it up to your discretion as to being a reasonable price.

G8, I really repect what you have done with your car. You have taken an "ok" car that was repainted another color and truly made it great again. The Fikse's look great on it!👍
