Has anyone ran the Ford FOTE-05A in their LT-5? That's what I just pulled out of my car! shocked to see they were Ford! |

Re: Southbay Injectors - any experience with them?
The set u got from jerrys I believe we?re the fic injectors that we?re the correct ones for our cars. As to if they were Fords I don?t know and have no feed back in south bay . So sorry if I interjected wrongly into this thread . I get all my parts from Jerry?s whenever I can . He owns a zr1 and I know sells only the best stuff for our cars . Getting stuff elsewhere to save a few bucks isn?t worth it to me and hehe I am poor .

Re: Southbay Injectors - any experience with them?
Thanks for the responses, but I'm specifically looking for feedback on the Southbay ZR-1 fuel injectors, and if anyone has experience with the Ford FOTE-05A (Bosch 280 150 943)

Re: Southbay Injectors - any experience with them?
The Accel injectors many members use are the same ones used for Mustangs. So are the Fords u have the 19# injectors used for that application?

Re: Southbay Injectors - any experience with them?
I would only put RC,FIC and Accels I wouldn't trust any others.

Re: Southbay Injectors - any experience with them?
I ordered a set of ZR-1 injectors from Southbay, they're Bosch injectors. I spoke to the owner of the company and to several ZR-1 owners running these injectors, and felt confident in the purchase. I'm going to test them on the flow bench before I install them and report back.

Re: Southbay Injectors - any experience with them?
I was running a set for a while. They came with the car when I bought it. No problems what so ever. They are used/rebuilt injectors so you do run the risk of a bad one popping up. Still if your on a budget they are not a bad solution.

Re: Southbay Injectors - any experience with them?
I got my injectors in, and put them on a flow bench: excellent flow patterns and within 2%!! These are a great buy if anyone is looking for a set of injectors that won't break the bank!

Re: Southbay Injectors - any experience with them?
Direct experience with them. Very good. These are Bosch injectors. Running them in my personal ZR-1 and in multiple client cars (had them in the car when I received). No problems tuning with them.

Re: Southbay Injectors - any experience with them?
If you want good injectors, use a few of the sources listed above, but keep in mind, a some of that stuff is just used injectors which have been cleaned ultrasonically. They are not new and are not even "remanufactured" in the sense that legitimate business use that term because stock LT5 injectors cannot be remanufactured nor can most other injectors used in an LT5.
If you want the best injectors for 1G LT5s, go to RC Engineering. More than two decades ago, the late Jim Van Dorn and I worked with RC Engineering to develop a set of high-end replacement LT5 injectors which would support 500-525-hp yet offer good driveability in all situations. RC Engineering continues to sell them today. They are a derivation of the Lucas rotating-disc injector design which was a far better choice that either the Bosch pintle (ie: Ford) injectors or the ACD ball and socket design. If you are interested in the best injectors you can get for an original LT5, contact RC Engineering and ask for Wayne San Miguel who understands the 1G LT5 injector situation. RC injectors are not the least expensive but they are an outstanding product. I installed a set in Barney's 500-hp Automasters "Street Skinner" engine in 1996 and they were still in the car when I sold it 20 years later. When I owned it, they were in-and-out a couple of times during plenum-pulls. I sent them to RC for cleaning and retesting. Each time they came back with a flow spread of 1-1.5% and "execellent" patterns. Since I sold Barney, I continue to use RC Engineering injectors. I have a set on my '04 Z06 which have been there for about 13 years trouble-free. I just had RC clean the OE injectors out of my '12 ZO6. They came back with a flow spread of 0.9% and exccellent flow patterns. |

Not a clue. The car has changed hands twice since April of '16 when I sold it to (a person) in Florida. He kept it for a couple years then sold it to a guy in the Northeast. that dude had it for less than a year then took it to Barrett-Jackson Northeast and auctioned it off. I lost track of it at that point. |
