1988 KoH P8Y079 aka EX5006
Frame stamped VIN 1G1YY2187J5100038
A price has been agreed upon and I look forward to getting the car back to its birthplace of Kentucky. Although it will need plenty of love, it is a non-crushed example. Black Sapphire Metallic exterior with black leather interior. 13,000 original miles with original 'Not For Sale' tires. Check out how low the Corvette script is on the rear fascia. My thanks to Joel Stieglitz for agreeing to sell me this piece of history... https://i.postimg.cc/cJ1wxmDM/Resize...717-134224.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/q7GChZbZ/IMG-8114.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/2yXL5RK4/IMG-7784.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/9QhySVZk/IMG-8116.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/SN8WDj28/imagejpeg-0.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/pXnhYdcj/IMG-8115.jpg |

Hey buddy
I know you're just being kind. Last week, I visited a dear friend with 45 cars in his 20+ million dollar collection. I'm happy for him and he's happy for me and my four C4 Corvettes. We're all very fortunate👍✌️ Lemme know next time you're in Hogtown, KY. Mark |

Re: 1988 KoH P8Y079 aka EX5006
Russell Hedger, my 'go to' hauler, is picking up the 88 KoH tomorrow morning from Joel Stieglitz in Tampa.
I'm very excited to see the car and, again, thank Joel for allowing me to be the new caretaker. |

Purchased a front license cover off a 1988 Corvette. Looks fancy in green...

Re: 1988 KoH P8Y079 aka EX5006
I have a 1990 set of roller wheels/tires. Will get these sent off for restoration. I suspect these tires have tubes in their future...

Re: 1988 KoH P8Y079 aka EX5006
It would be too cool to get the A91-Hatch Pull Down functioning (again?)...

Try an old Cadillac trunk lid.

Re: 1988 KoH P8Y079 aka EX5006
Getting the original skins and wheels off and putting a set of 1990 rollers on. Wheels will be sent to Alabama for R & R. Hopefully, with the original wheels restored, I can persuade the tires to hold air so tubes won't be needed...

Re: 1988 KoH P8Y079 aka EX5006

Original rear camo panel that kept the press from seeing the new design. I'll use this as a template to have a new one replicated...

Re: 1988 KoH P8Y079 aka EX5006
keep us posted on the hatch pull down, I always thought the pull down would be cool to have, but more as a remote hatch vent..

Re: 1988 KoH P8Y079 aka EX5006
I will present updates as this project progresses. Lots of odd items on a prototype. I believe they called the component molds "soft molds" until the final version was settled on. Tail light lenses have no molded in numbers. The rear fiberglass is hand laid. Many components have experimental stickers, or something to that effect...Pretty cool stuff😎

Re: 1988 KoH P8Y079 aka EX5006
Looks like, even in 1987/88, they had settled on the ZR-1 moniker...

Re: 1988 KoH P8Y079 aka EX5006
Scored some great items for the 88. A beautiful pair of 88 sport seats, ZR-1 transmission, intake accordion/clamps, dipstick and (under the blanket) bellhousing...

Re: 1988 KoH P8Y079 aka EX5006
Original build manifest still in place. Over time, I'll gain access so it can be removed without damage...

Re: 1988 KoH P8Y079 aka EX5006
Ratty old gut still looks better with seats. Just imagine this interior cleaned and detailed. It will look new but still feature Milford Proving Ground alterations, such as...holes drilled to hold monitoring equipment, velcro, straps, notes taped to various components, etc. I'll have the seats restored with new foam and leather, new door panels and carpet so...hopefully the interior will smell and look new.
The car will soon have the exhaust and shocks (Z51) removed and then the underside, along with many components, can be dry ice cleaned... https://i.postimg.cc/gjjBnfmw/IMG_8109.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/LsSCzqmF/IMG_0102.jpg |
