I like the weeds hanging under your Silverado, no fooling around huh. I don't see a 2 wheel drive truck in your future

Love the thread. I will try to get a little more creative with the camera in the next couple weeks. Can't wait to see Ryan's ruby.

I really like the shot with the top off. I'm going to look for some creative areas for more pics like that this summer.

Re: Lets see our Canadian ZR-1s
No mistake. I meant originally delivered. I always thought the Ruby database on the 40th register site was how they were optioned. In the past every Cdn vert for sale I checked out matched that database. Now it seems it is a bit of a mystery because that is filled out for I believe all ruby cars so I can't see how it is from member information only. I will keep digging.
|
Re: Lets see our Canadian ZR-1s
The mystery deepens. Ruby database shows 4 Ontario ship to's and 1 Alberta ship to. Ryan your car definitely shows MI as well. So that seems accurate. So what is right, ZR1 net (2 total both not Rubies) or Ruby database? I still can't believe there were only 2 in '93 to Canada.

Re: Lets see our Canadian ZR-1s
Back again:
Here are the vins in the database. Was BC not Alberta. Unless we turn something up I'm going to see if my local Chev dealer can run a vin check and see if they were optioned as a Z49. 1G1YZ23J6P5800039 ON 1G1YZ23J8P5800043 BC 1G1YZ23J7P5800048 ON 1G1YZ23J4P5800055 ON 1G1YZ23J7P5800227 ON |
Re: Lets see our Canadian ZR-1s
On Jerry's Database, those cars shown to have been delivered to Canada have Zero information posted on them, from day one, so those are still a big 'I don't know' in my books. Not saying i know, but i've been doing this for a while & I only know and/or have ever heard of those two (yellow & black) that were ever delivered through a Canadian dealership. I seem to vaguely recall something was up with the 93's , bumpers...?, emissions...? something was goofy there & no 93's were even supposed to come to Canada at all, but two made it through when all was said & done. I honestly have not thought about this much in a while, but something might come to me. I encourage you to keep digging though, see what you can come up with. Have you tried to contact Jerry Downey regarding the five (5) Ruby Zee's on his Database? Might want to, Jerry's a good guy, he'll try to help out :).

Re: Lets see our Canadian ZR-1s
Looks good Dave. I really hope to get mine out soon. I'm going to get it appraised soon so I can insure it for what its worth. If I wreck my vette MPIC (Manitoba Insurance) will only give me about $10,000 for it.:censored: I found a way to insure it for more.

Re: Lets see our Canadian ZR-1s

Re: Lets see our Canadian ZR-1s
Nice cars Ryan, very impressive. How do you find the time for three cars. Ruby car is bad, the red make it stand out even more.

Re: Lets see our Canadian ZR-1s
Awesome Dave and Ryan.
We're all getting to know our cars a little better. Who cares if we are miles and miles apart. Love the plates Ryan. I thought the '90 should be the FLYIN 0 when I first looked at your plate sequence. |
Re: Lets see our Canadian ZR-1s
Wow Ryan, what a beautiful collection of ZR-1s. I really like the Ruby one.

I'm considering '95 ZR1' here in Ontario. It was available last year when I checked.

Greetings!
When I posted a few weeks ago asking about oil types/capacites for complete fluid change, I think it was Ryan who asked me to send pictures. The car is now home (1990, 78,000 km), so if I've figured out how to do this correctly, here they are! The car was pretty dirty when I got it, but it has cleaned up quite nicely. I have soaked the seats in leather conditioner, vaccumed it out and generally cleaned the interior since the photos were taken. The engine bay needs a good detailing. Original finish will have to do, 'cause it's too much coin to powder coat right now. The paint seems to be original, and needs a good buffing/polishing/wax. Lots of surface scratches and several stone chips to touch up. Thanks to everyone's assistance here, the motor oil/filter, trans, diff, and coolant, thermostat and air and fuel filter have now all been changed. Once I put a few miles on it and am satisfied there are no leaks, I'll change the brake/clutch fluid and power steering fluid as well. I hope to have it on the road by mid-May. Can't wait! Cheers Mark |

Thanks I really like it myself - only thing wrong with White is they don't show the shine a darker color does. But also really easy to keep clean

Re: Lets see our Canadian ZR-1s
There were '5' 1993 40th Ruby/Ruby ZR-1's imported into Canada. I know of 3 still in Canada and bought new here... 1 is down east in a dealer's collection and 2 are in the GTA. About 9 years ago while at my brothers home in Burlington ON, I met a guy that claimed he had one :worship: . I thought to myself (ok yes maybe he has a 40th Corvette but the odds of it being (A) a ZR-1 and (B) a Ruby car are next to nil). Well to my surprise he brought it over to my brother's home the very next day. WOW it was a Ruby/Ruby 40th ZR-1 bought new in Toronto for a measly sum of 107,000.00 in 1993 $ WOW. This fellow was a pilot for Air Canada and has had many different sports cars... Ferrari, Porsche, Acura NSX and the like. After chatting and looking over his "gem" he said, "I would never sell this ZR-1... these are quite Rare, alot of fun, and not too bad to maintain". My 40th ZR-1 was originally sold in Indiana. I purchased it from a collector in Texas with 2,200 miles! Roughly 3,500 kms from new. After talking with the owner many times on the phone and requesting picture after picture via e-mail, I acquired the car. When it arrived, the car came to me as new! Still having plastic on the door sills, seats, glass top and steering wheel . I assumed (like most people do) that the car would need some maintenance...WRONG.. aside from the battery, oil filter, fuel filter, and air in the tires... the car arrived 100% factory stock. I do drive it twice a year to keep everything lubed and in good working order, but to be honest, I really find it tough to put miles on my Ruby.

Re: Lets see our Canadian ZR-1s
Cool story, Ruby looks great . I know they can be tough to put miles (KMs) on at times, I struggle with it too  :dontknow:.

Re: Lets see our Canadian ZR-1s
Thanks Ryan, I must say your cars are very nice, looks like you take great care of them. It is nice to have more then 1, prevents running up kms on one car. My 93 drives and handles a bit differently from the 90...my 90 has a much stiffer ride and seems to be tighter (might create rattles over time:)) but the 93's softer spring rate make it a more comfy car as well it seems to have alot more torque.
