18 days before The FAST BOYZ of ILLINOIZ open up a can of whoopass at the Crown Point US41 Corvette Challenge. Looking to set up caravan.
Who's interested in connecting on the way to Indiana. I'm thinking the
last oasis on 294 prior to jumping into Indiana. Discuss! :wave::mrgreen:

Clarification: That would be the one near Hinsdale close to Ogden Rd (US-34 and I-294), no? Or, just "make it so".

I think he means the one East of where I80 and I294 combine, near the Gravel Pit

Correctamundo! Near Halstead. Some of us would use 355 to I80 and onto 294.

9.26 US41 Dragway Corvette Challenge
 

Doesn't look like there's much chance of me getting my Z back together in time for the CC. Bummer. I've got the porting of one of the heads pretty well done, but the other one isn't ready yet (being welded), and then it needs all it's final shaping and polishing too. :rolleyes: Its been my luck all season w/ this BEAST.

But, I'll prolly ride to the track w/ Ami in her 69 vert and just meet y'all there with the video camera and a decent still camera or two "at the ready". (We intend to get some good shots of the FBI doing their thing.:dancing)

And, I guarantee if like last year some folks don't know anything about the ZR-1 at the beginning of the shindig, they're gonna get some "quick" lessons and be a lot smarter at the end of the day!:sign10:

Sure hope the IN ZR-1 boyz will joing us. (I suppose "FBI" could just as easily be "Fast Boyz of Indiana" too, I recon.;))

Boy! T-shirts (Thanks to Hans!), burgers, hotdogs, the scream of Pete's Mean Green Machine, the thunder of the 400+ boys... It is going to be a HOOT! You ZR-1 pilots in So. IL and over in IN aren't gonna want to miss this one. It could be BIG!;)

I just checked the weather for Morocco,IN and it's supposed to be
partly cloudy for Saturday,and raining in Chicago PM.:occasion1

I've been watching all week. The forecast started out with both Sat and Sunday with a chance of rain. Seems like each day the forecasted rain has receded - Sunday is now to be sunny, and Sat was to be cloudy/ chance of rain, then the latest seems to have the rain gone by mid day, and only a chance in the AM...

Lets call it at the ballpark and not by the forecast, methinks! Looking forward to it and to see y'all run!

Lastest weather show rain clearing tonight and cloudy daytime. Showers later in the day on the Morocco weather.

Hans what way are you heading down. 355? Im thinking of leaving the house about 7 ? Should be 90 minute drive.

Sorry I didn't make it today guys. It was a last minute thing, I was waiting a little longer to see how the weather was going to go when the wife woke up with a very severe migrain. We ended up in the emergency room for half the day so it was good that I didn't go to the track. She's OK.

Man were was everbody. The lone C-3 got its a** kicked by a bunch of C-5 and C-6.s Best I could do do defend the FBI was 13.55 @ 105.01.
You guys missed a nice day cloudy and 70 all morning. Sun was just popping out at noon when I left.

First time out and what a learning curve! Can see how people get addicted. Already know one winter project for next year. Car is way under cammed.

As for the rest of y'all "FBIers"...Like K said...U MISSED A BEAUTY!

Jim, one of the Brotherhood's newest FBI members, had the only ZR-1 there. He's still looking forward to meeting the gang :rolleyes:. He only has had the car since July and chose not to race it today. (We'll work on him for next year.;))

Ken ran his beautiful C-3, but feels he could use some "cam".

There were 5 or 6 C4s running. One was fairly quick; came in on a trailer - ran low 12s at about 115-117mph (not stock)

And there was this friggin' Moosetang there too. He was running pretty consistently in the low 12s - which was good enough to kick about 8 out of ten Vette butts!

One idiot in a C6 Z06 started going sideways on his burnout. Now most people would let up on it, but not this dude! He damn near powered that Z06 into the guard wall.

There were a few gals racing as well. None were aspiring "Ashley Force" types, as they all left the line like the green light was just another traffic light!:sign10:

There was one dude in a black C5. I saw the car in the parking lot before the racing started. It had a centrifugal supercharger on it; a Procharger kit, I believe it was. He had a line-lock on it and would really fill the air all around his car with tire smoke as he sat in the water. Anyway, he had one run at 11.3 at 126 mph.

I'm tellin ya guys...Ya coulda slayed 'em. Low hangin fruit, if you will. Coulda opened a can of whoopazz. Specially Pete, AL, and Bob.
