Oil Pump: HP Drain

I noticed that one of things the new Ferrari 458 did was revise its oil pump to reduce load at higher RPM.....our cars crank up some serious pressure at high RPM, any idea the hp drain our pump has? 570hp out of a 4.5 ltr....impressive. Also a flat plane crank which Ferrari added to the F430 and I recall they said it was worth 15-20hp. I know there are a few flat plane cranks out there that were run in the Lotus Elise LT-5 track cars.

Interesting reading in both Road and Track and Motor Trend.

Ha,ha, Ya'...sound's like a snowmobile . They can sound good when sorted out, no doubt, but sorting them out can be a serious P.I.A....IE: Lots of R&D.
