94 #256 New Paint

In last 12 months (especially during 8 months I was out of work) with a lot of help from WAZOO guys I have pretty much sorted out all mechanical and suspension woes - injectors, shocks, sway bar noise, front upper "A" arm, etc...
Only thing remaining are rear bearings and "C" beam plate install to be followed by new clutch (may be since I found out when Jim's clutch was removed it was still good dispite high milage).

A couple of weeks ago while backing into tight downtown parking spot in a garage I scraped my passenger side rear quarter (perhaps an intentional slip?). So I embelished the truth and told my wife partial repair won't work and only option was a total repaint or a new car - guess what her preference was.

Well, I pulled the trigger and dropped off the car at the body shop in Bel Air, MD yesterday - bye, bye 16 years of scratches and GM acid rain etchable paint! Two weeks and I will finally have a car I had been dreaming of since 2000.

Ofcourse, there are exhaust headers, refinishing wheels, new tires, P&P... Does it ever end???:occasion1

Yun,

I'm very happy for you. You've worked your tail off on your Z. I hope the paint job exceeds all of your expectations. I'm looking forward to seeing that Blk/Blk beauty!

With your newly acquired suspension expertise, maybe we can take another run at getting the back end of my Z to sit level.

Regards,
Scott

Thanks to all for good wishes.

Scott,
I was thinking about your rear suspension. I wonder if sway bar was worked on when the car was tilted. Also, rear strut camber adjustment was way too different between the left and right.
Perhaps we can take another closer look at the WAZOO gathering.

I know the sway bar was removed when the 4:10 gears were installed. I'm thinking we are going to find that the strut camber adjustment will be a key component to fixing the problem. Hopefully we'll get some rack time at the next WAZOO meeting and we can mess with it.

I will be tearing into rear bearings soon with Phil. We decided that we will pull both half shafts, replace all U-joints while at it. Hopefully I can gain some more insight into rear suspension.
