"95 Batteries
Hi, I have cat. # 484 on my build sheet for my "95, #208. Is that battery even availible now. What are people using for the judging. I don't think even 674 is avail. Curious as to what others are doing.

Re: "95 Batteries
I have the my original #484. have been looking to get it rebuilt for a while now....No luck as of yet. might try to do it myself sometime.
Can get the factory replacement AC Delco and get most of the points for it. Since neither battery is available now I might go to Novi if I can get the battery going again.... only thing I need now Arrrgghhhh..... |

Re: "95 Batteries
Please post pics of '95 battery here, too. And explain how/what to decode to tell if it's original. I may have the original but of course it's dead!
Thanks CJ |
Re: "95 Batteries
NCRS folks. Need a new battery for an original car. What is the most NCRS correct replacement?
Thanks, Ted |
Re: "95 Batteries
Ted,
For the 1990 MY the battery is worth 20 originality points and 15 condition points. I would guess the 95 MY would be similar. (sorry I don't have a 1995 judging sheet readily available) Obviously an original battery will get you the most points but I do not think they are still available. A service replacement AC Delco should only take a standard deduction of 50% on originality and if it is new and in very good condition there should be no deduction on condition. Non-AC Delco will get a larger standard deduction and if the deduction is large enough you can also lose the condition points. I would purchase a new AC Delco service replacement and take the 10 point deduct. My $0.02. Good luck, John |
