Re: Ported intake
Stock IH at head mating surface, as noted they can be as small as 31mm and note the large bosses which impede air flow:

Re: Ported intake
Well while I wait for my block work....opened these up more, and started on the plenum......checking interest...they are now 35+ down to the bosses....as big maybe bigger than the ones on my 391rwhp car.

Re: Ported intake
Hi:
If I might, I would like to ask some questions... What size are the ports in the head (that the IH bolts to)? Does one also want to match the IH to the Pleneum in order to maintain a constant size? What coolant block offs are installed (0r rather why)? What is the anticipated gain from this porting? |
Re: Ported intake
I really need to get my car ported...just can't afford it now.
the coolant bypass is for the TB, gm put them there to run coolant into the TB to keep the plates from icing up in cold weather...but who drives a zr-1 in cold weather? the advantages are to keep the air cooler into the motor providing (possibly) more power and the ability to pull the plenum without having to dump coolant |
