Hi Max:

My '91 has Stainless Works headers and a B&B (first gen) system with a B&B X-pipe instead of the resonator. With the headers being a big part of it, the system has the dreaded drone in the 1600-1900 rpm range. It's also the least back pressure exhaust system available with a large power gain because if it. IMO If you want quiet, keep the resonator. If you want max power, get a B&B x-pipe.

Hi Paul, thanks for your answer!!!
So, you say that with X-pipe the sound is so much??I listen a Zr-1 on youtube at idle with xpipe and the sound is fantastic, here the link:

Is your sound the same???
I try to see B&B website but i don't find the X-pipe.
Do you have a picture of your X-pipe?My email is: rommas76@yahoo.it
Thanks in advance!!!!

Re: X-Pipe

I have headers on my car. Headers always make a car sound better. My car sounds better than that car, but louder also.

Contact B&B, tell them which system you have and that you want to change your resonator for an X pipe and they will sell you the X-Pipe. They don't have a separate listing for it, but they sell lots of them.

No pics, or sound recordings... sorry. Good Luck!

Re: X-Pipe

You can also get the Stainless Works X pipe for our cars and supposedly a direct replacement on the B&B:

Hopefully someone will chime in an confirm with their experience. Best wishes.

Re: X-Pipe

I had the later version B&B on my '95 and drone was significantly lessened when I swapped out the resonator with B&B X-Pipe.
I installed SW headers and RT cats at the same time, and while it was certainly louder out the rear I had less drone in the cabin.

Re: X-Pipe

i would save a ton of cash and get one of the 3 in narrow x pipes from summit . if you awant more quiet 3 in exhaust try the dyno max super turbo 3 in with dual exits. best of both worlds and a lot less costly .if you want to hear what a 3 in with an xpipe and those mufflers sound like go to the personal racing stories section . and look for the go pro thread .

Re: X-Pipe

Massimilliano,

Ciao. I just went through a similar change on my car and removed the MFlow Xpipe/resonator combination and replaced with Stainless Works Xpipe (baffling removed). Let me ask why you want to remove the B+B resonator? If its for the sound, that's one thing. If its for power, I'll suggest don't bother unless you get the car retuned.
