LA Sleeves
I have some LA Sleeves liners that have some scoring can they be taken out to 4.010" or will they have to be replaced?

Re: LA Sleeves
Depends, if you already have 4.00" pistons then taking the liners to 4.010" will result in to much piston side clearence and the liner should be replaced. However if you don't have your pistons yet order a set of 4.010" pistons and have your shop hone out all the liners to give the proper side clearence specified by the piston manufacturer. The LA Sleeve liners have enough material in the walls to safely do this. I have a honing plate you can barrow if you need one.

Re: LA Sleeves
If you are going to be under 3.850 stroke it will be ok. I would not recommend over 4.00 ( LA standard sleeve ) for 4.00 and up stroke. The piston side load is a know problem for 4.125 strokes, A thinner liner will only make it worse. Back when I was working on a 368, I called the top 4 builders. All of them said ok up to 4.030 bore for a 368 ( stock crank ) All said no for a 415 ( 4.125 stroke ).

I was going to do a 415 with a 4.125 stroker crank but after doing some research I changed my mind and am now going the 402 route with a 4.000 stroker crank. |
Re: LA Sleeves
If Corey is doing the work, I would talk with him on it. I know I called Corey many times and he is in my top 4 picks.
