91 $AF bin file

Anyone have a stock $AF bin? I have an $AFA file.

You mean the XDF definitions? I have them both on my work laptop right here.

I have an $AF .xdf. Looking for the .bin
for a stock 91 using the $AF mask. Plenty of
$AFA available.

It doesn't work with mine- says CYL volume is 5.0 liters-

what is the history with that definition...what cars came with it?

Mike,

There are 2 versions of each def. file ie $8E/$8EA. The "A" versions were service mods. GM added a few lines of code to each def file. Cyl. Vol is one of the parameters that comes AFTER the point in the code where GM inserted the changes and that's why you get a goofy number. One way to check you're using the right version. You don't want to modify and save the bin using the wrong MASK ID. :-(

GC,

Somebody has an $AF chip and we wanted to modify one of the parameters not currently shown in the $AF files that are out there. All the broadcast codes I have are for $AFA mask and I'd like a $AF bin to do a compare.

Bill has not contacted me. Give him my cell if he'd like to chat.

Dom,

Are you dealing with an ARZR BCC bin file?

I believe that the AXFK and BFXB are both 'AFA' masks, correct?

Jep

Jep,

I got an $AF bin. Not sure what the broadcast code is. Yes the others are $AFA masks. Frankly, if it were me I'd convert it over to $AFA.

Dom,

What is the value of the first two bytes of the binary file?

That will tell us what the BCC is.

Jep
