Is anybody ever change original mileage - pass miles (kilometers) on gauges
& where can I get any info to do that ?
Im thinking to reset them to zero after I will change engine & trans
with brand new one (NOS).....or just live them original & make some pictures of speedometer & car that day ?
I would like to get your opinium Z owners ???

You can not legally change your original mileage or too much
funny business would go on following and buying a used car.
Most speedos have some type of seal to show if it has been tampered with.
Now if you are in another country and its just for your own info,
the sky's the limit. I have even heard of people finding and buying
lower mileage speedometers at a junk yard and swapping them out.
Just document your mileage at the time of your swap.
And do not try and run the car in reverse a la "Ferris Bueller" to lower the
mileage or your Ferrari will fall off the jack stands and end up
in a ravine!

Thankfully they didn't use a real Ferrari for that! In the commentary they talk about how they made the body out of fiberglass and were afraid it would be obvious when it all cracked up when the car crashed down that hill.

I love when they take the car to that garage and Ferris asks the valet if he speaks english. My favorite line of the movie is him replying "What country do you think this is?" The look on his face and the way he says it is hilarious!

For a C4, you must swap out the CCM as that is where the oddo is stored. The digital readout is just a lcd panel.

After you swap out the CCM, you must have a tech1 to burn it for vats to get it to function.

This sure makes sense. I was thinking of the good old days when a hard cable ran into the back of the speedo. And also disregard the "speedometer seal" business. Shoulda just lurked.........

Someone just posted about their tachometer having accuracy problems.
A reply was to replace the instrument cluster. Is this wrong also,
or is the tach different than the Odometer?
