Serpentine belt tensioner
What is the best way to get the tensioner out of the car when the bolt has been removed ?

I remember having trouble with it. Somebody correct me, but I think you can finagle it out the bottom if you do it just right.

Re: Serpentine belt tensioner
Came out through the top for me just fine. You might have to push the crossover pipe a bit, but it comes out the top easily. About a 3-minute job. Now torquing that bolt when reinstalling is another problem entirely. I could not get a torque wrench down there no matter what I did, and I had completely removed the coolant pipe and hoses. So I got creative with a wrench and some math.

Ah then maybe it was the top- I know that it will NOT come out from both directions. |
Re: Serpentine belt tensioner
Thanks for your help. Even with the TB horn removed, it was not possible to get the tensioner out of my 92 by the top. The coolant pipe is too close from engine front. What was possible with the horn removed was to get out the pulley and replace it. The tensioner it self was OK.
