Pulleys
 
Hi Guys
I will be ordering aluminum pulleys Power Steering, Water Pump.
Colors are Black,Blue,Red,Silver.

These are half the weight of stock steel pieces.

$199 each + shipping
I can do checks or paypal add $6

Have both of these and yes there are very light. In black, can't tell them from stock.

Just curious, what benefit are the lighter pulleys?

Zero additional hp. Just like a lightweight flywheel.....a light weight flywheel and/or lightweight pulleys driven by the harmonic balancer allows quicker engine acceleration which in turn allows you to get to a higher engine hp output quicker.

In other words......you reach 7,000 engine rpm quicker which multiplied by torque is Horsepower. Omega X T where Omega is Radians per second and T is torque in ft lbs......

550 ft-lbs/sec is one horsepower. Take a look at L98 Frisbee Horsepower below ;)

So if F=ma, w A being increased, then you have a greater force but you've also reduced the mass. A wash?

NOT ;)

a=F/m where a is vehicle acceleration and m is mass of ZR1.
F = Wheel Torque divided by wheel rolling radius. F increases with engine rpm and increases faster if engine rpm increases faster by reducing pulley inertia. m decreases by reduced pulley weight albeit such a small percentage as to be Negligible.

Keep in mind these pulleys have the largest part of their inertial resistance......The fluids they are pumping such as water and power steering fluid.

All that being said true meticulous, fastidious, picky perfectionists like some of us install these pulleys on all their Zs (me included) :D

Pete is offering aluminum pulley colors (Colors are Black,Blue,Red,Silver) not offered anywhere else. I am assuming these are Powder Coated or better yet (anodized) colors. :thumbsup:
