Very cool Frank. And although these little side bar stories of the king are short at least they are still getting their due.

Re: ZR-1 Makes the grade.
Slow and grudging recognition for one of the finest examples of the marque.
Dave McLellan deserves great appreciation for the risk. Took balls. |

Dave's entire career was banked on the ZR1. Dave had lots of confidence in Mercury Marine and Lotus. The man does have a set of swingers , most sucessful busness people do.

By visually looking at all 57 cars, there are way more fuelie cars nowadays than there ever were built by Chev.(1500)-250hp and 283hp versions. The 250hp wasnt so bad, but not worth the extra 5 hp over the dual quad. I am biased though lol http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/...fjune25021.jpg |
Re: ZR-1 Makes the grade.
#7 was one of my favorites, too. I sold this 57 Mad to help pay for my 90 ZR-1.
Have always regretted selling it. :( http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...lint/nomad.jpg |
Re: ZR-1 Makes the grade.
I love the tri fives and that 57 and 57 nomad are beautiful cars but think of all the technology and fun maintenance you would have missed out on. :)
