Drag radials
What do yo guys recommend for drag radials?
Just kidding Doug. |
Re: Drag radials
Toyo Proxes R888. They're great street tires but are almost impossible to break loose. My car is not tail-happy AT ALL any more! It's very frustrating!!:mad::mad:

Re: Drag radials
My PS2's only seem to break loose at the track.

Re: Drag radials
I suppose you could try Proxes TQ on the back and Proxes R888 on the front, but I honestly don't think it would be necessary. There's a Japanese video somewhere on Youtube where a guy has a new R888 sitting on a table and presses the barrel of a ballpoint pen onto the tread. It sticks there for like 5 seconds. I think these things are made of barely-coagulated industrial glue or something. It's ridiculous how they stick.

Re: Drag radials
Here's a link to that video. I own these tires and it's not BS. Granted, I don't drag race my Z but I just don't see how these wouldn't be sticky enough. Plus, you can drive them on the street. Just my .02...

Re: Drag radials
When I was running my 99 Cobra I inherited a pair of Nitto DRs and did pretty well pairing them with their 555R2s on the front. They were my "cold or damp" race tires for a season or two.
Of course using those DRs I learned that I cannot drive in a straight line ;) . Cheers, - Jeff |
Re: Drag radials
Your right Steve,
My C6 ZR1 with PS'w spun the whole 1/4 mile. [/QUOTE] |
Re: Drag radials
A C6 ZR1 spun through the whole 1/4? I wouldn't blame the tires! :dancing
