C8R Corvette = DOHC V8

Just read an article from Hot Rod and viewed some pictures of the engine. Hot Rod insiders say it looks like this will be the power plant for the future Z06 or ZR1 models. The article mentions the C4 ZR-1. Link below.

Re: C8R Corvette = DOHC V8

While it's true that they have to run a production version of the race engine, I think they have some significant leeway in what's required. If I remember correctly, the head design has to be the same, but I don't think they are required to run the same displacement or crank design for production, and I'm not even sure if they have to run NA or if they could do forced induction on the production version of the engine.

I'm hoping they actually do an NA DOHC FPC with high rpm, but the C8 DCT is only rated to 7500rpm, so unless they already have a different transmission version ready, FPC may be a dream.

If it's a FPC you want, let me know, I will be ordering another one for the LT5, during the next couple of weeks. It's no trouble to make more.:dancing Cost will be in the neighborhood of $6,500, balanced & nitrided.

I recall the Corvette C6R engines were built by Katech. It wasn’t a production engine, but most likely had a lot of GM parts.
