Windshield
 

I?ve received the dreaded windshield chip right in the upper horizontal line of the radar cut out. Tried to get it fixed with no luck. The car has 11,000 miles on the clock. I need to make a decision whether to replace the windshield with an original or aftermarket. Any suggestions?

If it's not a huge chip you would be better off just leaving the original glass in my opinion. I had a few original zr-1 windshields years ago. They are hard to find but out there. Do a search or have a auto glass company search for you. The aftermarket windows look the same but won't have the correct LOF markings or date codes .

A glass company can repair the chip but likely it will not be a complete repair. I would find a glass company and tell them " I know it can't be fixed all the way, but fill it the best you can". I know the people at the zr1windshield , you can PM me if you wish, good people, just not cheap.

will it fill in the discolor, mine has a small chip,and it delaminated it the size of a quarter

Agree with GOLDCYLON 100%..remember it likely needs replaced but depends on the originality factor and what that means to you. Hey GOLDCYLON...got any of the emergency primary to secondary fuel pump jumper wires in stock to sell? I want one!

I am working with my source as he has enough parts to do a small run of 4 if you want I will PM you when they are in hand. GC
