Fuel system cleaning additives?
 

I know from talking to Marc Haibeck in the past he says don't really need it as today's fuel has cleaners in it. I use to use Redline fuel injection cleaner once in a while. What are your thoughts on using specifically the cleaners. I've been thinking of trying Lucas .

For winter storage, I was told by my small engine mechanic (mowers, chainsaws, etc.) to use Sea Foam - as it won't precipitate/evaporate to leave residue in the jets over winter as SOME others do. AND, since I have experienced residue precipitating out and clogging the jets on several (small) motors and one motorcycle, but NEVER had an issue (yet) with Sea Foam (as I DID have with other stabilizers).

IMO, in lieu of Sea Foam or any other additive, IMO running the motors once a month until they are fully warmed up seems to work as well as anything else.

I typically store cars for the winter, roughly November 1-April 1, in my garage on a lift. I have been dong so for many years. I have never used any kind of fuel stabilizer and have never had any problems with my ZR-1s, old British, Italian or American cars, or my current Z06.usually have stored them with a full tank and I have always used top tier 93 octane fuel for most all my cars. With the Z06 I have run some Techron in the fuel when I take it out of storage, not for injectors but because the C7 fuel senders and sometime subject to some corrosion. --Bob

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: Yep! I didn't mention the full tank too: very helpful in preventing water condensation build up during winter storage!

You might find this interesting, Paul: The current recommendations from probably the best respected C7/C8 Corvette tech around is to store the C7s with less than a quarter of a tank due to the corrosion problem with the fuel level sensors in the tank. Apparently being covered with fuel that is not constantly moving can cause them to start to malfunction. If they have to be replaced, the job of getting the tanks out is a fairly large nightmare. So far I have ignored that advice because when it is time to store the car it gets stored with whatever gas is in the tank. Haven't had any problems but who knows what lies in my future. --Bob
