Anyone have a Kwik Lift?
What do you think of it? Can you pull a tranny with one? Exhaust removal? etc...Comments?

Re: Anyone have a Kwik Lift?
=Jeff= has one, and I believe that you can do all of that. I think biggest problem is setting it up on the lift without the wheels.

Re: Anyone have a Kwik Lift?
My brother has a Kwik Lift and we have restored two Triumphs (TR6 and TR3) using it...so yes you can drop a tranny, replace an exhaust and pull an engine if you want... lifting car off of its wheels is a pain, but the advantage of the Kwik Lift is the clear area under the car unlike a sissor lift which generally blocks the area off

Re: Anyone have a Kwik Lift?
I have a Kwik Lift, like it a lot, get a lot of use out of it.
Have done headers, shifter, rear end gears, all routine maintainence from under the lift with all kinds of room to work. Took some measurements, when lift is up bottom of rear tires 18 inches off floor, bottom of front tire 20 inches up, bottom of tranny 25 inches off floor. Park ZR-1 on it in the down position spring summer and fall, in the up position during winter it keeps the snow and water falling off my wifes car away from my z. |
Re: Anyone have a Kwik Lift?
I picked one up last year. It works great for me in detailing the car. I have 2 center bridges so I can remove all 4 wheels at once. Lifts the car high enough to work like a gentleman. When it is in the down position you can just park the car on top of it.

the Kwiklift brings the bottom of the tires 20" off the floor, perfect for working on underneath, exhaust is easy to swap, trans will come out with no real issues, I have even swapped out the rear diff on my 89 on the lift. I only have on center bridge and I am borrowing a second center bridge, I definately recommend the 2 bridges, I am also thinking of the casters for moving the car once on it. I would have done a full lift mbut my garage it tight and the posts would keep access from the other car in my 2 car garage. here is a Picture with my lift in use http://vettextc.jiminees.com/ZR-1/9-...s/100_7234.jpg It also allows for storage underneath when necessary |

Re: Anyone have a Kwik Lift?
Thanks for the pics guys...keep em comin'.
I'm really close to pulling the trigger on one of these. The price is right & it seems I can do pretty much anything I could with 4 post...except get another car under it. Ry,,yea, I'll be doing the clutch on my Z. My throw out bearing sounds like its gonna' throw itself out through the bellhousing  also thinking of headers at the same time:dancing |
